If Berlusconi didn't want him he should have let us buy dzeko or hernanes or krasic or someone else. If Leo wanted or is happy with Mancini, then it is good enough for me

Don't like him Silvio? then you should have given us the money to go out and get a better player.

Don't cry poverty then complain when we can only loan players. Double standards.

I don't actually call Mancini a playmaker he is a wide attacking player, Berlu needs to watch more football :o:D

Perhaps what Berlu's implying is that he wanted someone new? Someone fresh? Pehaps younger? Don't tell me ALL players who fit those criteria cost a fortune. Anyway, its still comforting to know that Galliani does have someone to answer to.

That costs money though, no team will let a young star go to AC Milan for little money because they all know we're backed by a billionaire who can afford the best.

I think what Berlu has to understand is the market is very inflated at the moment and not a lot of clubs have money to spend so they're only going to let players go for an inflated price. If he wants a player he has to provide the cash.

I don't agree that all young talents are expensive even in today's inflated market. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think we can find reasonably good players (not even necessarily young) who can improve the squad as it is at the moment.

Also, he does have a point in terms of creativity. Laugh at his football knowledge all you want, but what I see is a lot of ball-to-feet players in our squad, with very little movement - to the point that I actually think Clarence is our most dynamic player offensively. Heck, Antonini has looked a lot better simply because he makes runs on the left.

Anyway, hope Mancini does well ... if he can be dynamic, I'm sure he'll make us a better team in the end.

Yeah in some cases you're right, you can get a 'gem' for little money, but there is some risk involved.

We need somebody who can come into our team now and make an impact, its very hard for a young player to do that.

A lot of our movement in the past was at fullback, them making forward runs stretched the opposition team, we don't have that anymore. I'd kill for a right back half as good as Cafu to be here, because his relentless runs gave Pirlo and others so many more options when attacking. Same goes for Serginho, he might not have been the best player but when we needed an attacking outlet he was fantastic.

Abate clearly isn't a fullback, he will need a lot of time to adapt to that position and while Antonini is quick, his delivery isnt the best.

We really should have made every effort to bring in at least one new fullback - lets just hope we do in the summer.

If you're implying on highly rated young players than we probably hasn't signed much apart from adiyiah..
but we made serious primavera signings this season, I guess people just want us to get fixed players, and I have to say many of them does cost money these days, at least more than our management's liking

About playing style, Mancini's Roma is a very dynamic player as i can remember, his off the ball movements and runs is very good, as if you remember Roma usually plays a fast counter attack with Mancini and Taddei making crazy runs in the flanks, that's why I don't really consider mancini as a playmaker.. he never played like one.. unless Berlu's statement was miss- interpreted by the media

I'm sure he's much more dynamic and will make more off-the-ball movement than Dinho and perhaps Beckham. This should give Dinho an incentive to move his ass, or else Mancini will play instead of him.

i am so done with peerlo and seedork appreciation so i am going to start don berlu appreciation month

* Born in Milan in September 1936, Berlusconi entered politics in January 1994 promoting a "you can be rich like me" message. He was elected prime minister and took office in May 1994 but survived in office for just eight months.

* Swept back to power by a landslide victory in 2001, Berlusconi promised to revolutionize hidebound Italy. But change came slower than many hoped and he lost a parliamentary election in April 2006 by the narrowest margin in Italian history. He came back to power last year on a law and order platform.

humble man says enough but as a fan i must appreciate him

I'm a bit surprised that Berlu didn't agree with G about Mancini.
It's really something new that G gets players without the agreement of Berlu.

If Berlu wants us to get the players he wants then he should give G the money for them and btw Mancini is no playmaker, he's like Dinho/Pato on the wings.

I think all of them will be singing when we win there, we already won there in the CL group stage, so we can do it again :D

Maybe also the media made it sound more 'angry' than it really was.
As long as Berlu doesn't hate G and also Leo for getting Mancini, everything's ok and they're friends.

Berlusconi as Superman is his Christmas gift to grandchildren

Rome, Dec 19 (DPA) Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi gave his grandchildren an early Christmas present: a Superman-like doll with facial features resembling his own.

'My grandchildren now really feel like the descendants of a super- hero,' Berlusconi was quoted as saying Thursday by the online site, Tgcom.

The 72-year-old Berlusconi, a twice married father of five and grandfather of four, made the revelation during a Christmas party held for employees of Palazzo Chigi, the Rome-based office of Italian prime ministers.

Each 'Super-Berlusconi' doll is attached to a model helicopter which forms part of the gift, according to Tgcom. The online site forms part of the Italian billionaire-turned-politician's media empire

Silvio Berlusconi in tears over hero mother
Silvio Berlusconi was reduced to tears when Benjamin Netanyahu paid tribute to the Italian prime minister's mother for saving a Jewish child from arrest and deportation.

By Nick Squires in Rome

Silvio-Berlusconi_1571523c.jpg

Mr Berlusconi, who was visiting Jerusalem appeared to wipe away tears when the Israeli leader recalled how Rosa Berlusconi, who died in 2008 at the age of 97, saw a German policeman trying to arrest a Jewish girl on a train in Milan.
"The Italian woman, who was then eight months pregnant, stood between the policeman and the girl. And without a grain of fear, she confronted the German policeman and said to him: 'You can kill me, but look at the faces of the people on the train, I promise you they won't let you get out alive'," Mr Netanyahu said.

"With this firm statement, the Italian woman saved the Jewish girl and lit, if only for a moment, a ray of humanistic light and bravery in the great darkness that pervaded all of Europe.
"That brave woman was named Rosa, and one of her sons is named Silvio Berlusconi, today the prime minister of Italy."
Mr Berlusconi, 73, was on a visit to Israel's parliament and listened to a translation of the speech, which was in Hebrew.
He wiped his hand across his eye and nodded in appreciation as Mr Netanyahu and Israeli MPs applauded.
"I am moved and thank the prime minister for recalling an episode involving my mother, who in that moment expressed the feelings of all Italian women," he said.
In true Italian style, Mr Berlusconi idolised his mother and devoted a chapter to her in a biography of his life that he sent to every Italian household while campaigning for re-election in 2001.

Milan Sign €60 Million Sponsorship Deal, Could Prompt Silvio Berlusconi To Sell Club - Report

Milan have signed a €60 million sponsorship deal with Sheik Ahmed bin Sae*ed Al Maktoum, head of airline company Fly Emirates, fuelling speculation it could pave the way for him to launch a lucrative takeover.

Il Corriere Dello Sport reports Al Maktoum has agreed to pay the club €15m per year until 2014 to become their main sponsor, plus bonuses related to success in the Champions League.

The move has led to speculative reports suggesting Al Maktoum will use this as a way of increasing his investment further by buying a stake in the club. Last summer Il Sole 24 Ore claimed he was ready to buy 40 per cent of Milan's shares from Silvio Berlusconi's holding company Fininvest.

Those rumours were denied by Milan, but that hasn't stopped talk of a takeover. As for the sponsorship money, the €15m received for 2010 will go towards the summer transfer market, in which the Rossoneri are likely to swoop for Edin Dzeko of Wolfsburg.

Awesome ! This rumour is more believable than Sheikh Mohammed taking over, coz he's in debt. But the chairman of Emirates definitely is not :proud:
Hopefully the 15M is used on Kjaer or forwarded to the BuyUsDzekoTrustFund (i.e. if we get 8M for Kaladze lol)
