Really?

People expect him to put in WC performances week in week out?

Who would you rather have us buy then for the same price?

Asamoah doesn't offer me too much more than Muntari... not enough to justify spending 15M to upgrade Muntari.

he's young and has "potential" and will fit in Allegri's tactics....

I don't know why the forum raves about him. Im not directing this at anyone but sometimes I feel like nobody has even seen this player but then there would b a rumour and then someone will say "hes very good", next thing u know a bunch of ppl got that person in their fantasy line ups.

Well Weah-man, have you seen him? he is actually quite good ;-) then again, I agree with most others, he is not a huge upgrade from players already in the squad, just a marginal upgrade. He is for sure better than maybe all our midfielders, but just slightly

Instead of Asmoah I would rather spent the extra few million and go after Axel Witsel, who Rui said is ready for a big club.

He seems like he would literally be the tailor made bit to play b2b in Allegri's team, and he should be able to have 10+ goals while also offering good defensive cover

People comparing Muntari and Asamoah....

Shows how much of Asamoah they have really seen to think they have similar playing style...

And all of a sudden Witsel is better?

another quality player that our scouts wanted and we refused to pull the trigger :fp:

if we made a squad out of players that we scouted early on and then were too cheap to buy that have gone on to do very good things we could have a squad that could probably beat our current one...

I like asamoah as a player, fast/strong/quite technical/ good tackler.

his goal scoring is piss poor though, but if nocerino can score, then I'm sure he'll score too if he joins Milan.

Believe it or not - but not every player we opted to not sign became WC

And I really wonder how much of Witsel's games you have actually watched to be moaning so much (just EL games don't count)

I have watched him and was not overly impressed.

I wasn't saying he is similar to Muntari, I am saying as a team, our level with Asamoah won't go up, just like with Muntari, aka hes not a game changer

I agree here. Though I don't think Asamoah is worth the price tag, I doubt we should spend more than 8 mils on Witsel. Just because Rui said he is good doesnt mean he will be.

Could say the opposite about similarly linked players... e.g. Bonucci and Rannochia were highly hyped and linked to us. We're fortunate we didn't waste 15-18M on each.

Any signing is a risk. Younger players with "potential" come with even higher risk. You can justify the expense if it's at lower prices e.g. 5-8M... but placing many 15-20M bets could prove disastrous.

Look at the ludicrous amount Juve have spent... how many 10-20M players they've axed (Krasic, Elia, Melo, on and on). Sure, they're in 1st right now, but they've been lucky to avoid injury and have their main competition (us) deal with 250+ games of injuries... and that disallowed goal ;)

Well I've seen a lot of Asamoah this last 2 years and he's nowhere close to Muntari  They're VERY different kind of players. Come on just because they're both african they're both Muntari-like (Gamewise)?
Asamoah is a medium-hardworking good passer and creative CM. Muntari is a just a very hardworking CM.
I havent seen Witsel that much but I think that the ideal player would be Sahin or Moutinho.

@USC:

I also agree to an extent, but Nesta and Abbiati should be enough Milan icon experience. We cannot keep Gattuso and Ambrosini with the hope that they can repeat their great performances for three or four times a season and their places in the squad may prevent young and talented players from getting some minutes on the field (Strasser, Merkel?)...

Agree.

I have always wanted cabaye, perfect player for us right now. Too bad newcastle will ask for the moon for him, atleast 13 mil plus for him, which berlu will never spend cuz he aint a striker.

The confrontion of the generations

Milan are in place within the leadership of some of the movements which is worth dwelling. The shareholders' meeting last Friday was a breakthrough for the future of the club. Barbara Berlusconi's rise has taken shape in three obvious ways: Board of Directors was reduced from 13 to 8 components, in the company was placed a figure of his choice (Antonio Marchesi) and the president's daughter has become head of Special Projects whose goal is business development for new markets.

But perhaps Barbara will not stop here. Wants more.
It 's time the comparison of two generations distant from each other, that of Adriano Galliani, Class '44, 25-year benchmark of Milan, one of the most loyal colonels of Silvio Berlusconi, and to Barbara, born in '84. In between, in the role of mediator, former Premier.

Barbara Berlusconi has brought with it Antonio Marchesi, a professor of sports management and business consultant. But his real reference is Michael Uva, 48, currently a consultant of the Football Association, experiences in volleyball (among other things, was president of the Women's League), football (dg's vice president of Lazio and Parma) and basketball (dg of Lottomatica Roma), is also a consultant Sport + Markt AG, a company that works in marketing. The curiosity is that Grape was the creator of the "hall of fame", an initiative that the Football Association, in December last year, has awarded its executive Galliani as the best Italian football. On this occasion, the son of Galliani made him his personal congratulations for the idea.

In early February, Berlusconi would speak to Galliani Grape, to favor a gradual entry into society, but the Rossoneri decided to go it alone on its way. A road that has taken the extraordinary successes in Milan and from here comes the recognition (as well as the estimate) of Berlusconi. The link between the two is so strong that if there was a possibility of a change in the near future (from two months to two years), would happen only with the approval of the CEO. It should be noted that since AC Milan in the hands of Berlusconi, the roles of the top of society changes have been very rare.

The problem (not now) is called Marina Berlusconi (Fininvest with managers) that, to the budgets of Milan, pales. Two days ago, his father was forced to pay another 67 million in the coffers of the Rossoneri. In this case, the two sisters become allies. Barbara is convinced that Milan fails to achieve its full potential. The data he has in hand speak of a society far as sales, the top 10 European clubs. It 's leader in Italy, but far from big in Europe.

This could result in another sacrifice during the next market. As Pato became unsaleable (Berlusconi himself was to block the transfer to Paris Saint Germain and now, despite being the boyfriend of his daughter, you'll be biting the hand), could end up on a list of transferable as Thiago Silva, who has a excellent market (Barcelona in the lead) and, despite being one of the best central defenders in Europe, does not reach the magnitude of Ibrahimovic.
The transformation is taking place in Milan, but only the next few months will determine the level of any change. And also the conclusion of this season could influence the choice. It is one thing to spend and win, another is to spend and lose.

it is never gone happen-berlu paid deficit from his wallet and we have now clear situation-

good things -for last scudetto gallani had to pay 12 mil bonuses couse it was first scudetto in 7 years ,there will be no such huge bonuses when we win scudetto this year .

our CL proggres will make at least 15-20 mil more(just from ticekts sales against bartha we earned 5.4 mil)add marketing, coomercials, uefa payment.

we are now official first team with 58 000 people watching every game and this will make us to take biggest tv revenue from lega calcio .(at least 10 mil more)

lady b is working hard on asia special p. and we will make some huge sponsorship deals with biggeest asian companys.and according to sportmediaset we will open 5 new huge shops. expecial in china.

and biggest +++ will be wage bill only 3 players according to all reliable sources will get new c. ambro-nesta-rino and they will all have 1 mil wage (there is small probabilitiy that nesta will have little bit bigger wage)
we will save more then 45 mil wage after taxes.huge

Gattuso, Ambro should be kept in the squad just their leading roles and the for the remaining energy they can give. I'd prefer 2 old paps like these rather than 2 kids: we need a bench that can partly offer extra quality or game changing solutions and on another part that would offer security and composure to the squad both mentally and technically.

so we need 2 senatores for the season to come sitting on the bench next to 2 kids of the new generation
