So im thinking that its either we are desperate for depth in the winger/attacking mid department OR its that SES has less chances of returning to action in the next few months.

Anyways, if we do sign him, expect many nutmegs and other little party tricks. Also willing to bet that Taarabt and Balo get into a fight.

Let's kidnap Galliani, move Constant, Zaccardo, Robinho, and a few others from "active player" status, where they get their wages, to "search party" status, where they are paid a handsome reward when they find Galliani. Frankly, everyone wins.

Actually the only real winger we have atm is El Shaarawy and he's not even available.
Birsa, Kaka, Robinho, Balotelli(debatable but still), Pazzini are all better suited to a more central role.

To me it seems like Clarence wants to build on this 4231 formation so good wingers are something we need to make it work. You can't play 4231 with 4 central players, we're only trying to penetrate the oppositions D through the centre of the pitch, which is very predictable and isn't working at all.

Taarabt is a very poor choice though.

Taarabt wont come in and displace Honda, Kaka or Balo. Hes going to aim to make that LW his. So it may be that SES wont recover for now, otherwise Biabiany would make more sense. Honda is position-less so for him it wont matter but im intrigued to see what Seedorf does with the likes of Binho and Kaka once everyone is back from injury and we have Taarabt among the options.

I agree, Taarabt is a cheap choice, would have been smarter to push more for Lamela if we are in the market for flopped inverted wingers. At least hes proven himself in this league.

Taarabt is quite slow to be a winger. He has been playing as an attacking midfielder or supporting striker. We acquired Kaka and Honda for that position recently. We have Saponara as well who plays there. He is very lazy and quite selfish on the pitch. He has been a thorn in just about every team he has played for. His wages are much higher than Zaccardo's. We would be much better off without him than with him.

The player that Biabiany is most similar to is Theo Walcott - in terms of pace and techincal prowess, even if not the exact position on the pitch. However, Biabiany's attacking movement and finishing are not as good as Walcott's and hence he tends to play a little deeper. He is not much of a crosser either. So ultimately all his pace becomes rather useless in terms of end product. Think of a less effective Walcott who is also a year older.

On the plus side, he could outrun just about anyone in Serie A, if that counts for anything.

This mentality needs to stop or we'll be an average side for a lot longer than intended. We need less quantity of good players being brought in and more quality but fewer buys. Honestly, I know people are really down on our team but it's not that far off at all... about 2 quality (and actually quality signings) would make this team able to battle on all fronts again. We have a crapton of good players (not great) and a mix of youth and experience, we literally just need a top class player or two to change the game for us.
