Example of flawed thinking. Players might be cheap/free but their squad cost is 211m compared to our 128m, based on CalcioFinanza numbers. That's a huge difference. Their squad costs 83m more per year than ours.

Fw-FzZ-WYAAMmTy

I didn't do this chart but I think it shows the CF numbers for 22/23. We dropped our squad costs by 22m this season after dropping massively every year since 2019. Napoli the only team that increased relative to 21/22. Inter also had a big reduction, but their wage bill is insane. Also look at Napoli's amortized transfer cost. It's almost 3 times larger than ours, even if their wage bill is under control. They have a good model, they'll sell for huge capital gain this summer, but they probably can't keep a winning squad if they don't push up that wage bill to keep the best players. There's a reason why Kim, Kvara and Osimhen will probably all leave.

Juve are seriously fucked, in more ways than one.

And they still have 30M obligation to pay for each Loca and Kean this summer. I wonder if this comes with a big salary bump for them
Plus Zakaria, Arthur and (maybe) Mckenie back with combined ~10M net salary

They need a big clense. Only good news for them is that a lot of their overpaid players have contracts running out now or next year. Pogba and Vlah deals is where they are fucked the most.

nope
he paid over 90m that summer for tomori, mike, tonali, etc. so no, he couldn't really. otherwise he would have done it or bought another AM as hakan replacement.

we are trying to negotiate the price down with every transfer tbh:lol: that doesn't say much.

padre wouldn't even have the option of playing him as SS if paul didn't want him here so badly:o
He has Yacine Adli and Pioli doesn't use him. Adli, the Moncada choice.

This is you avoiding Pioli's responsibility for anything:

Pioli finally learnt to play Bennacer / Krunic at AM before Bennacer got injured and he shifted Diaz back there. So the 4-2-4 problem seem to be solved for next season, especially if Kamada comes...
He could play Pobega there. He did it once. Against Juve. We cruised to a win. Never did it again.

He also has Adli.

He also found out the 343 worked against Conte's system. What did he do against Inter... without Leao?

Pioli has infuriated me this year. Losing to Inter like he did really pissed me off.

Not saying Pioli didn't screw up many things, including Adli... Was just saying that at least the 4-2-4 problem seems to solved for next season. Even if Milan keep Diaz, his position should be on the wing. with Kamada coming and a new midfielder coming. Hopefully won't be be another January like month again.

Jokes aside players like Mikautadze is exactly the sort of players we should be targeting in our position. Even if half of them flop.

Cheap, easy to move on, low wages, high ceiling. All you need is 1/5 to hit.

We already had Pellegri, Lazetic. So this will be number 3.

It might be that he gets the Adli treatment too.

Reminder of the team that started against Ladri in the first match.

There was one super pass by Tonali to release Messias in the derby first leg and I had this feeling that he might be under utilised in a deeper role. He also has the stamina to press and harass opposition deep lying playmaker for whole 90 mins.
He might be our in house solution to Pioli's AM position.

Pellegri doesn't count imo, Lazetic sure. Hauge is another good example.

How shit is Jovic.
Get fucking Robinho PTSD watching him.
You need to watch a highlight of him against Basel last week. The chances he missed where easier to score than miss.

He gets into good positions but then makes outrageous misses

Their main advantage over us is squad depth, it’s why for a big portion of the season we were above them and they separated toward the end when fatigue really matters. No doubt having guys like brozovic and lukaku on the bench is a plus vs what we have. But on the other end, our entire core is younger than theirs and locked down(although whiners said the club couldn’t do this.) They have a lot of bandaids in their team, people would bitch so much if we signed Acerbi or Mhki. And that’s not even counting the fact that a large other portion of their squad is aging a lot.

Don’t get me wrong it sucks aways to see them get a bit further than us and by beating us. It hurts because we’re fans and we care about this. But we are building our team where they are coming down. Don’t cry about a team that’s two points higher in the table than us. We are easy squad improvements from going right back above them anyway. Let’s hope management gets it right because I really don’t think a lot is needed to jump them.
thats it ? nah ur deluded
their starting mid is better than ours so is their attack ..

To be fair it can be real hard to stay awake during some Milan games... Hell I might even be guilty of looking at my phone during games as well.
On the contrary, I am stressed out watching Milan games.. can't sleep for an hour even after the game ( mind you, in India, Milan games usually end at 2:00 am or 2:30 am).
But I do fall asleep watching other Serie A games, most recent was Roma vs Inter. The commentary is so boring and I do agree with Stevan's point that the colour palette for EPL telecast makes it look more livelier. Serie A really needs to market the content better.

Literally every one can see that tonali is fit for AM, well except Pioli

That fucker has 5 goals in 30 Serie A games - 3 of them vs Torino and the 2 Milan clubs. He has 1 more vs Torino in Coppa Italia. Pretty sure he is a Ladri fan.

My concern about Openda is that his 22 goal/assist contribution over the 36 Ligue 1 games is so streaky. All the goals and assists came in just 13 games. Rest 23 games, he neither scored nor assisted. He seems a very form based guy, a bit like how Rebic was 2 seasons ago.

Loan with option yes

Crazy part is that Greenwood and Toney who is banned till next year would instantly upgrade our team by a considerable bit. You would still need 2 starting midfielders but pretty much everyother position would be looking for back ups for Leao, Theo and maybe center back as well

Greenwood reputationally would be a massive problem though and I doubt the English FA would allow Toney to go to a different league

I don’t know why we’re not going for Youri Tielemans. Can play CM or AM.
He’d easily be our BEST and most well rounded midfielder if we signed him. My no.1 pick among the players available for free.

Excellent passing, vision and creativity.
Excellent long-range shooting
High work rate and a tireless runner.
Tactically intelligent
Leadership quality (vice-captain at Leicester).
If Roma can afford his wages, we can too.

I think it's simply EPL money is waiting for him once he's decided where he's moving too.

Every free agents seems to be going to Roma just now...

He'd be a great pick up but I don't think we're looking because there's no interest from his side so it's a non-starter.

There are absolutely no rumours linking him to us, that speaks volumes... Arsenal are a likely destination apparently.

Tielemans is good, but I've been told he's very inconsistent. Leicester fans are not happy with his performances...bet he does well in Italy though.

Hard to say if we should go for him

Milanlive linked him to us a couple of days ago. Apparently Moncada has always been a fan. But I don’t know how credible this report is.

Also, like you said, it’s probably EPL money that he’s looking for. BUT if that’s not the case and Roma think they have a chance, we should be pursuing him too.
