Serie A is not some faraway trophy in which we are competing against prime Barca, Real, City, Liverpool, and Bayern. It's... Juve with Allegri and Inter with Acerbi and Darmian.

We are also not exactly Liverpool. In terms of relative strength we are roughly were we should. Juve with CL would be a lot closer or behind us imo.

Thiaw is pretty fast for a tall CB though. All in all it is a bit long since Kalulu ´s good times, if we get a good offer for him it would be very risky not to take it imo.

The first time I saw him was vs Real in that game I mentioned and he was on my watch list after that. And then followed him in the Uefa Cup that season. He scored in every round and all the important goals apart from the 2nd leg vs Inter in the Quaters. Also played well and scored vs Newcastle and Liverpool. He showed me enough. Yes he did have a awkward first season at Chelsea but he looked a handful vs United on his debut and also scored vs Liverpool in the League Cup final. But the goal record vs good/strong teams and the way he made defenders feel uncomfortable it was only a matter of time. Generally due to the speed and physicality of the PL i always give foreign players new to the league 6-12 months adaption period. Back then the fouls you got in Mainland Europe werent fouls in England. Darwin does remind me a lot of Drogba will fuck up the simple chances but will score a worldie. But like I said put Drogba in a big match and he comes alive kinda like Mandzukic did.
