Piolis problem isn't his rotation.
His problem is the failure to integrate pobega and adli into well defined roles.
Especially since he's had them from day 1 of summer.
I say this as a massive pioli fanboi btw.
What sort of integration were you expecting?
Pobega is just a new Daniel Maldini, here to fill the homegrown spot and be the backup for the backups, with slight hopes that he might turn into a utility player like Krunic.
That's going to take more than just a preseason and a few appearances to find out.
As for Adli, he's not a double pivot midfielder, his CAM game at Bordeaux didn't seem fast paced enough for our approach. Heck, the club was even willing to wait one year for his arrival. Let's just say he wasn't picked because he filled immediate needs of the coach.
I'm not optimistic, but still, a preseason and a few rounds is barely anything when you're dealing with a young, tactical misfit in a new league and country.
