..the hell with it!
The only fuckin reason Galliani would say "Adebayor or nobody" is because he knows:
a) After a great season for Arsenal it's almoust certain they wouldn't be letting him leave (first Henry, now Ade the following year? don't think so..)
b) If, however, they did decide to sell - they would demand MEGA bucks for him, something we sure as hell aren't capable of paying, yet there are clubs also interested in him (like Barca) who would have no trouble paying that amount of transfer fee..
Therefore - it's the perfect alibi, so Galliani can say (at the end of the transfer window) either "Well they (Arsenal) didn't want to sell" or "He didn't want to leave anyway" or "We can't compete with other clubs from Spain or England, so no wonder he didn't end up here in Milan"...
I just hope the next question (if such conversation ever existed) wouldn't be something like: "Mr. Galliani, why didn't you manage to get an alternative option in case the whole Adebayor transfer would have fallen through, especially since you opted to sell Gilardino, send Paloschi on loan, released Ronaldo on a free and Inzaghi is currently in the process of rehabilitation after his succesful hip surgery and will be out for approximately 5-7 months?"
Galliani: "Oh no need to worry, Milan will still be competitive! Don't forget we have mighty champion 19-goals-per-season Borriello back!"
Anyway.. what I don't get is.. both, G&B had a "hard-on" for ETO last summer.. ALSO at the end of this season.. of course - both times Barca was still unwilling to sell.. HOWEVER.. now that Barca's new manager Guardiola has OFFICIALY stated that Eto can leave as he is no longer featured in his plans (which also means he would be allowed to leave for a smaller amount of fee), Galliani is here making up fucking stupid bullshit lame-ass excusses for not signing a WC striker... time to pick up that phone and give your buddy Laporta a call, mr.Amoeba-brain.. :rocketki:
