+got rid of high salaries of ex players such as Ronaldo,Gilardino,Dida e.t.c.

Ronaldinho for 15-20 mill Euros? Hahaha, good one!

---

Gattuso is the heart and engine of this team, it's not Milan's policy to get rid of one of our icons. We're not Real Madrid (Hierro, Helguera, Morientes etc).

R.Oliveira has to be more worth then GilardinA, he has scored fantastic 19 goals for Zaragoza, who got relegated (!).

I guess no-one's willing to spend more then maximum 12 mill Euros on GilardinA, so he'll be loaned out to Viola or something so that we don't have to pay his salary and maybe he can even score a goal or two in CL.

---

Since we're playing in shitty UEFA cup next season our management is willing to take risks which they never would've if we were qualifyed for CL. This young GK Lloris is an example of such a risk.

At this point he's certainly not better then Z.Kalac, so they'll rotate the GK's next season. Which is a clear sign of shaky GK's in the squad. If we qualifyed for CL I'm 100% sure that we would've got a solid GK a la Frey and not some talented kiddo who can become good, if we're lucky that is.

I guess our management hasn't the money to purchase a big name GK nor would they be willing to spend a big amount on a GK. I guess they've learned from Inter and Roma who only have decent GK's and still they challenge for the Scudetto.

That being said, their Brazilian GK's are solid - but nowhere near the class of Buffon, Casillas etc.

I know I'm tieing myself to the stakes here, but while I do think Buffon is better than Julio Cesar - and not by such a large margin -, it was the inter goalkeeper who had the better season. Try to see things in an objective way, Julio Cesar was their main player in the Scudetto run, and I've lost count of how many times games were won by merda because of him.

People have this 1Buffon2Casillas3Cech stuck on their minds, and fail to see that not only the gap isn't this huge abyss, but also that there are other world-class goalkeepers that are challenging for the best goalkeeper in the world title. I'd vote for Buffon, but I'd certainly have one of Julio Cesar of Frey in my top3, and certainly both in the top5, after what they've done this season.

I hope your joking! Anyone at this point is still better then Kalac. He did save our ass this season but he isn't a youngster and not world class when Lloris is very young and can certainly be world class, prospect for the future for sure and is certainly good now.

Gattuso confirms Milan stay

Midfield ace to stay put

By Nadia Carminati Last updated: 19th May 2008

Gennaro Gattuso has confirmed he will be staying with Milan.

The 30-year-old has been strongly linked with a summer move with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United big admirers of the Italian midfielder.

But Gattuso has revealed that follow talks with Milan supreme Adriano Galliani - who would be staying at the Giuseppe Meazza next season and indeed he intends to finish his career with the Rossoneri.

"I am not going away because all my doubts have been cleared up. I want to make clear I have never talked about money," he told a news conference.

"I will finish my career at Milan, I will definitely stay until 2011."

It is believed Gattuso had sought clarification on his future after the club sealed a deal for Arsenal's Mathieu Flamini - but Galliani has now assured him of his role with Milan.

The agreement to keep Gattuso could be as big a deal as Milan do this summer, although they could yet seal a double raid on Barcelona for Ronaldinho and Gianluca Zambrotta.

I think Oliveira only suits himself playing in Spain. He scored a bunch for Betis, and now Zaragoza. He should stay there for his own good.

Because B's fetish for a former world-class player, is more important than signing one of the brightest young prospects. Even if the latter is half the price of the former world-class player.

typical milan we go after or are linked with every single players thinking og moving clubs but we get no1 like 90% of the time, i guess they are all possibilities but i doubt frey would come to a uefa cup side from a champs league side + we are rivals

We are linked with TONZ of players & it changes by the month, week, & hour.

It's not the first time that we've been linked to Boruc & I'm sure it won't be the last for him and TONZ of others.

And in reality it goes:
Ronaldinho
Borriello
Zambrotta
Sagnol(well he's committed to Bayern at the momoent but it wouldn't suprise me if Milan in the end land this "HUGE" signing, and of course boast about it all over the world as the corner-stone for the future Milan)

Seriously though, the first I'd take of those "dream" signings would be Nasri, but since Milan got so lucky with Gourcuff and generally don't have a habit of bringing too much young talent in, it's a big no-no. Arsenal will land him.

Yea, like he could show anything when playing 10 minutes per game for a whole season. I'm not saying he's gonna be great, but lets give him at least a chance to prove himself first.

can someone explain this good relationship we have with roma? If so why arent we trying to get alquilani. Juve and Arsenal are battling over him for 12-14 mil euros. I like him more than Nasri for milan now

Training sessions are there for all players to show what they got. I'm sure he didn't impress Carletto and also I hope he leaves this summer. Not Milan material at all. Send him to clubs like Viola.

We talked about this over and over already.

"Ronaldo should play some part in the game," said Ancelotti. "Ronie has been one of our best players these last few days, as has been (Yohann) Gourcuff and so this training camp has been very positive.
Guess how much he played after this statement on January 09, 2008.

Also said numerous times - send him on loan where people can work with him and he'll show his worth like boriello did. He will suddenly become milan material again in next trtansfer campaign.

damn, Barzagli & Vargas :head:

Barzagli close to Fiorentina

Fiorentina have reportedly agreed a deal with Palermo to sign highly-rated stopper Andrea Barzagli.

Whispers in the peninsula are claiming that Viola sporting director Pantaleo Corvino held talks with his Sicilian counterparts last night and reached a compromise over a fee.

The Rosanero, who will also sell Amauri and Cristian Zaccardo this summer, will net somewhere in the region of £7m for the Italian World Cup winner.

Corvino is now expected to meet up with the former Chievo player’s representatives to discuss personal terms.

It’s understood that Barzagli, who was strongly linked with Juventus a year ago, will be offered a four-year contract worth £1m a season.

Although German side Wolfsburg are willing to propose a more lucrative financial package, the 27-year-old would prefer to remain in the peninsula.

Barzagli was yesterday named in Roberto Donadoni’s preliminary squad for Euro 2008 – even if he is likely to be used as back-up to Fabio Cannavaro and Marco Materazzi during the tournament.

Fiorentina are also expected to imminently sign Catania full-back Juan Vargas.
