People talk like it's a big deal to be captain of Brazil. That doesn't mean shit.
Even Robinho was captain.

thiago silva wanted to play vs roma. its the managers decision who plays, shoulda told ts33 to sit the fuck down, your playing 'gainst barca.

but how can he say that, he is the one that let silva get beat up 120 mins against juve

allegri - has anyone told you that YOU are the manager?

I disagree.
Nobody knows his body better than the player himself. The decision is with him.

BTW, be injured/healthy is not black and white as people seem. From a professional athlete there's a lot of grey... Players go to the field on pain, feeling disconforts, tired, not 100% all the time. If you're going to never let a player risky anything, never put him unless he is 100%, the guy will barely play.

yeah, as you say, not only football players have to live with this.

and another thing that's common for professional athletes is that they always want to make it. they want to take part of the competition.

it's nothing unusual that the player clears himself, especially when everyone, the club, the coach, the team mates and the player wants to play. this is often a responsibility for the top players. especially in big games against roma and juve.

he was battered after the juve game. it was criminal to put him on vs roma. most of the roma games i watched this season ended up with roma leaving with 0 points. us twice, lecce gave em 4 goals to worry about at one point until they retaliated with 2 goals only. then there was the juve nightmare where vidal ended the game in 7 minutes.

its the managers final call. i know he feels that if silva says he can play that he'd let him play - he is that important - but sometimes you gotta just say its best you sit this one out. rather have you fully fit against barca than 50-60 vs roma.

How do you know he was battered? I think this is like calling Silva stupid or something. If he was that bad he wouldn't have played. Clearly there was a case for him to play too, even if it was risky.

It's easy to talk in hindsight btw, after things go wrong...

BTW, Roma is a huge team, not an easy game at all. Besides 3 points against Roma are worthy the same 3 points as Inter, Juve or Cesena.

im not calling silva stupid - no not in any way. (i play centre back in real life - because of thiago silva)

im saying allegri should put priorities and told him your not starting the game - or better yet, just left him on the bench and get the result. allegri did fear playing the back up defence (was it yepes or bonera?) whilst silva on the bench, but we had a crucial game next.

had it not been for the awesome display of luca antonini, we would have called for his head after the barca game.

roma are a huge team i know, last season they beat us at the san siro and we drew them away. this season, i just watched a lot more roma losses thats all. it was actually frustrating, i wanted roma to trouble juve - but juve upped their game against every difficult team.

playing silva for 120 mins would have paid off had we won. we didnt. it would of been great if we just let him sit on the bench against roma and come off incase another emergency happened (would of sucked had he got injured 10 mins after coming on)

these three games + fiorentina and bologna were the changing points in the season

could have been so much different had couple of things changed, but allegri'd learn and hopefully wont repeat the same mistakes again

*ignoring pato vs barca*

This better not be our way of hearing we will lose our key players :fp:

I wonder if Ambro knows whats going on with the team, with departures and signings. Surely the captain would hear something......

Thiago's goal is a clear statement that we shouldn't sell him
