Abate is beast at RB in FIFA. Why would you move him?

n00b

Abate CB to stop pacewhore STs. Or RW as he can actually cross.

Nothing in Milan's midfield is ideal. I just think it sounds silly to say we should put DJ on the bench in a 3-man midfield when you have Nocerino, Muntari and Poli (who I don't think is that good, especially tactically) as his competitors.

Muntari-Montolivo-Flamini was better than any midfield-three combination including De Jong...

De Jong has more quality than most of our midfielders, but he's not suited for a 3 man midfield. That's the problem.

By "far from ideal", I mean it's hardly even appropriate. Nothing we should be okay with, other than as a desperate solution until the next mercato. Unless we have already given up the coming seasons too..

I haven't seen DJ in side CM role, and I don't think you have either, so who really knows how well he can do.

I have. We tried him there a couple of times early last season and he also tried it at City. You don't really need to see him in that role to know it's not a suitable role for him though. He's not a box-to-box player or the type of player to run around all over the pitch to win the ball back. He prefers to sit back, be the distributor at times, the ball-winner at times...

stop talking to me.

Stop bitching about all the conceded goals and lost points then.

That midfield(+Ambro) played a major part in our defense and results improving and being those of a top club......right after De Jong got injured.:o

But yes, monto-dj pivot would be the best thing.

I was thinking about it in the long run.
If we're not going to use him in a double pivot system, then it would be best for both parts to go separate ways.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if our crappy other midfielders would accommodate Monto better than NDJ is or would be doing, since the B2B role is more natural to them. I mean, Muntari and Flamini already did it.

Poli is a very talented player - very complete from a technical perspective - but needs to be calmer and wiser, which should happen with experience.

The last game De Jong had pretty decent ratings compared to the rest of the team... personally I thought it was one of his worst games this year. I don't think though that it's his problem ... it's more related to the fact that our attack is supporting defense less and has no teeth when it attacks which encourages other teams to attack with more players.

I wouldn't discard the fact that in some games we might need Montolivo as DM, plus I see De Jong compatible with Muntari's current position.

Agree...because allegri doesnt know, how to get best from de jong and montolivo, it is best to sell our best midfielder :fp:

1. De Jong isn't our best midfielder, Monto is.

2. Few coaches use 4-2-3-1(or 4-4-1-1) in Serie A. Some even say it doesn't work in Serie A(I'm not one of those).

3. I don't find De Jong to be all that in a double pivot system either. He's still not creative and dynamic enough or complete defensively either. Which is why he lost his spot in City to Gareth freaking Barry.
For 38 league games, you(a top team) should have a more complete and dynamic CDM duo.

The game aginst Uefalona was indeed one of his worst; however, like I have mentioned before, DeJong is always covering his position and Muntari's position for most of the match because Muntari thinks he is Dora the explorer.

De Jong is injured and will miss the match with Colombia. He will be ready for Genoa.

I can`t believe there are people who think Montolivo is better than this man. He`s superb defensivly, very agressive, and actually has good passing skills.

Are you serious? I thought he was very labored on the ball today, he slowed down the whole team from time to time.

Without any doubt, our best player this season. Kaka a close second only because he missed a lot of games.

I`m serious. I didn`t say he was a playmaker, but that he has good passing skills.

He rarely makes a wrong pass, and his long passes are so much better than Montolivo`s.
