30% resale to universidad de Chile for osorio is further evidence that Maldini is incompetent and is incapable of negotiating.
100% would cost 10m, which they don't have
that's why they agree on 5m for 70%

100% fair. My criticism for Pioli is always that we still play very predictably and the recent abandonment of discipline.
We are playing like Batman at the start of The Dark Knight Rises. We lack that edge.

We don't have hunger, don't have swagger, we aren't bullying other teams into submission. Our players have skill, individually, but we used our setup to overwhelm our opponents. But when that raw power goes missing, that's when you have to fall back onto the fundamentals, like in boxing, establish a jab, etc, but we seem incapable of doing that.

That's where Pioli has made the mistakes, because he's telling the players to go out swinging, when it's 1) not necessary and 2) you've played more conservatively before and it was how you got 6 wins in a row to close out the title.

Once again, Napoli is able to do this because they are cushioned by selling their big players for respectable amounts.

I have fought tooth and nail to defend maldino from the accusations of "bad at selling" but if we lose out on Leao, there is no excuses.

Yeah sure they could have sold Kessie before he entered the last season. That was a mistake.

But what about all the money from cutting squad costs and lowering the overall salary? Shouldn't the management be allowed to spend that?

I mean if they renew Hakan on 5m, Kessie on 6 mil, Romagnoli on 4 mil, Donnarumma on 8 mil, then management would be able to spend their small transfer budget on other needed positions like a right winger, better FB, but the squad cost would be much higher!

When people see how much owners are letting the management spend they don't bother to look at how much the management has cut in overall costs!!

That's for rainy day funds in case of missing CL, we don't HAVE to sell key players at losses in order to even have 50m mercati.

If things keep going the way they are, we might see this happen this season :proud:

Let's be honest, once again, nobody has a clue.

We were all slagging off Braida calling him a lazy incompetent sycophant until he left and joined Barcelona and then everyone in here was calling him the brains behind the operation.

It’s just poor business. They claim they are trying to achieve sustainability yet make deals like this. When we try to sell him (if we do), we would lose so much in income from his sale.

I know everything is doom and gloom, but doesn't this Osorio dude look like a very exciting talent? In the exact position we have been screaming for.

Bennacer out now. Pioli is truly incompetent and should be out simply due to our injury record. Why is he here? Last season was last season. We may have won the title but he has made us a laughing stock. Everyone is saying we fluked it. I dont care what people say, but no one concedes 18 goals in a month and should have a job. Pay tuchel or poch, do something.

Moving out Romagnoli and Kessie should have freed up funds to spend more, and Ibra going from 7m to 1m also must have helped. Moving on from Donna and replacing him with Maignan, saved us money.

I'm waiting for the summer before I get angry at the situation, though. I also remind myself that Elliott's first year in charge was fundamentally different to the subsequent years.

With the way they have (not) spent money, whilst also cutting down costs, it actually lends itself to the theory that Gerry wants someone else to be the coach. It's the sort of shit that American owners of NFL teams do when they take over a team.

Vitiello: Bennacer muscle problem in the left hamstring. The exams will be repeated in the next few days to better understand the entity.

Even if Pioli turns it around, and wins the fucking CL and Serie A this year, if he doesn't change the fitness staff, I'm going to shout out diatribes that will make Dennis Reynolds seem calm.

If those 30% got us 5m discount up to a sale of 20-25m that actually makes us money or is neutral.
If he flops and we sell him for 5m than saving those 5m is huge, if he is a reasonable success and we sell him for 20m we need to pay them 6m but saved 5m before and had them to work with all that time. If we never sell him it is also a win, lets say we extend him 3 times and eventually he expires, not an unlikely scenario , my local club had a resell stake in Alaba - never happend.

If we sell him for 50m it still only makes 10m difference, bad but not extreme either. 30% for a proper discount is not a bad deal, especially if not a selling club.

He wont play for us like that. Worst thing abt Italian coaches is they all think of themselves as chess grandmasters... over complicating things... best thing you can say to a young players like CDK/Dario is to go out and have fun!

No way can i see us beating inter without bennacer. We are lucky they are losing their best defender. Everything about this season has been a shambles. From MM, shit performances against chelsea, pioli and the injury crisis that never ends to the worse and most embarrassing month as a milan fan with nothing to look forward to other that bald guy at the dugout looking completely flustered

As soon as Milan appears on stage, a surcharge is due. It sucks, but what can you do?

Moreover, who knows whether everything that is written is always true?

Hope it all works out. I’m scared though.

So Pioli still not fired and no player signed. Well, so grateful I'm on vacation, easier to forget all the bad things. It's obvious now Pioli won't get fired, no matter what, maybe only if we lose 10-0 (hopefully won't happen).
I want to see some drastic improvements in the derby.

Edit: wtf, Bennacer is injured? Fantastic news before the derby:fp:

Went home and trained excessively in order to not be blamed for the Inter game?

I'm not that familiar with Napoli's financial state, but ADL has pushed them from the lower leagues when he took them over in 2004 when they were bankrupt, and it took a very long time to get them where they are now.

Roma and Inter have made insane losses, and Inter apparently have huge looming financial deadlines coming this summer that their fans are dreading. Inter, Napoli, and Juve have all relied heavily on pretty "inventive" accounting to skirt by. Juve are the ones who have gotten the pinch for it.

The thing about Napoli's transfer dealings, one of the elements that doesn't get as much attention is that their transfer dealings aren't just being investigated (again) by Italian authorities, but also French authorities. So... we'll see.

However, I expected more to be spent last summer, even if my ideas for that spending (*cough*Renato*cough*) would have been terrible.

Listen, if Roma is in a good place financially, they wouldn't be in this whole shit show with Zaniolo (not being able to sell him unless its obligation due to FFP) And Napoli is padded by their sales, pretty much.

I get your point though, just a little bit more of wise spending would net so much more return.
