Giuliano goal today:

That was Internacional last game before WCC.

I can't figure out Giuliano's best position.... I still feel like he should probably play 'in the hole' the way players like Nasri do...

What do you think?

@SM84, does Nasri actually play predominantly in the 'hole' ? I think not, hes very versatile. Can play at CM/LM/RM/AM and probably even SS if they needed him to play it. Nasri is a unique talent but he needs to be treated as the main man or at least one of the main players.

I dunno much about Giuliano but i've seen some Copa Libertadores games and im certain he could be as valuable asset to any team just like Nasri. They share that unique quality of being able to play as an all rounder attacking mid, doesnt matter which side or position it is.

What would his price tag be like right now??

He's more in 'the hole' as in he's right behind the strikers and making overlapping runs. He's the perfect player for an inside forward as he just continually makes runs aswell as passing well.

anyone know the overall team of the season?

Fábio (Cruzeiro)

Mariano (Fluminense)
Dedé (Vasco)
Miranda (São Paulo) - unfair choice, guy made an average championship at the best
Roberto Carlos (Corinthians) - The same as Miranda

Elias (Corinthians)
Jucilei (Cortinthians)
Conca (Fluminense) - Best player award
Montillo (Cruzeiro)

Jonas (Grêmio)
Neymar (Santos)

Muricy Ramalho (Fluminense) - Best coach

Bruno César (Corinthians) - "Revelation"

I agree. He made his best games playing as RCM in a diamond midfield last year, but I think he can play as well in the hole, he was good there when he was used. He got killer pass, smart movement and great shot.
Lately he is playing like a winger in a 4-2-3-1, but he always run to the center. He is really not a winger, would be way best in the center, he is a very direct player.

Miranda from Sao Paulo, excelent player to sub Nesta.

get

Neymar and Ganso on Barça.. Neymar would fix well in that team.. Ganso is kinda slow to play in that midfield.. in my mind sound like a Riquelme2 on Barça.

get

Cleo could play in Liverpool next year.

Can someone give me an overview or 'round-up' of Atletico Paranaense, as they are my favourite Brazilian team? It's mostly because of Football Manager, but i now like them alot. Thank you.

Well, Atlético Paranaense is one of the two biggest teams in Curitiba, in the Paraná State, South of Brazil, and do the local derby against Coritiba (there's a third team there - Paraná, but he is behind those two). The club got the nickname Furacão (wich means hurricane).

Atlético was not really achieving first level positions in Brazilian League, he was on the Second Division most of the time I think, until the 90's when a new administration take control and start rebuilding the club.

They built training facilities and a new Stadium (called Arena da Baixada) who is one of the best Stadiums in Brazil - only two private stadiums will host WC in 2014, Internacional's Beira-Rio and Atlético's Arena.

The club had his best years in the first half of this decade when the club achieved n Brazilian League title in 2001, was runner-up in 2004, and played the Libertadores in 2000, 2001 and 2005 (when was runner-up - lost the finals against São Paulo).

On a curious note, the German footbal legend Lothar Matthaüs managed the club for a few games in 2006 until his picture with some girl pissed his wife (who was in Europe) and he was forced by her to leave Brazil.

Is one of the most modern club in brazil.. along with cruzeiro, goias.. inter, sao paulo..

But even here in Parana.. Corinthians, Flamengo.. Sao Paulo, the huge ones.. have more supporters than the teams from around here.

And their stadium is the top stadium in brazil atm.

I see you're from Parana. Good old Atletico Paranaense, Raul, Manoel and Rhodolfo - FM Legends.

How is Marta's popularity in Brazil? Didn't realise she's won five WOPYs in a row. Incredible. Keeping Samba alive :D

A question posted mostly at Sven and Australiano

What do you think of jucilei v. lucas in terms of for milan? Both seem like they will be moving in summer on reasonable size fees.

Lucas really intrigues me cause he's so much better with NT and the style IMO is closer to serie A/continental football than epl.

And i think he's a better passer/more assured player than ambrosini in anchor role. Could be heir to it.....

But you all see more of him with gremio and Nt. Jucilei, ive really only seen in copa libertadores, and he's looked nice but i question if he gives us much more than boateng.

I like lucas.. he used to do a partnership with pato in NT u-20 (pato fail btw).. but lucas was always scoring his goals.. in epl i dont follow him.. same goes for anderson.. a guy with capacity to be like ronaldinho gaucho, playing DM. Ferguson is a master.

Jucilei is strong and versatile(DM, SB).. he is a DM like Lucas only stronger.. Lucas has more personality..

Lucas is so much more than you guys saw in Liverpool.. i would prefer Lucas for the history and personality.. dont know if Jucilei will adapt quickly in a european league. But he is good.. not that good to be in NT.. but i already said the reasons that he is been call up by mano.

Shame that Sandro is going for the same road.

Yeah, well in general the english don't understand how a central midfield is suppose to work....

I remember arguing on epl thread here, problem is liverpool not lucas for two years

And yeah, i like lucas, i remember seeing him in 2007 copa libertadores and thinking, this kids got potential to be real box to box player, I think it was v. santos he scored a nice goal... can't remember it's all blending....

Eitherway it seems since Mano has taken over he's made Lucas the anchor of his midfield. Like he wants Lucas to stay more discipline and pass ball, and break up play. Ramires has a bit more freedom to roam. I like him more than Felipe Melo. Even though Melo is doing really well now (under a proper coach) I would never want him on my team, he's like gattuso x10. Ready to explode any moment. Love me a good south american #5 (and on that note, Gargano @ Napoli is having a great year)

Seems Villareal might grab him for 8 million euros. But we'll see... think he can be really good in italy.

I remember first game v. usa. Found him very impressive

Nothing more exciting than a DM side passing compilation.
