Big discussion about Ganso on Corinthians on Espn.

Apparently, Sonda Group wants to pay Santos the 55% so they send Ganso to Corinthians.. Santos dont accept due their bad relantioship with the group.

Pele: Brazil Risk Embarrassment In Hosting 2014 World Cup
Brazilian football legend Pele admitted that his country could become a laughing stock if the 2014 World Cup does not run smoothly, while also voicing his concern at the ongoing contract dispute at his former club Santos involving young prospect Ganso.

"Brazil is running a huge risk of embarrassing itself in its handling of the World Cup," Pele told reporters in an audience organised by sponsors Santander.

The South American bid has been under close scrutiny since the last World Cup ended, with concerns over airports and other transport infrastructure particular concerns in the world's fifth largest nation.

"The delay in the works is something that is really worrying. Everyone knows how hard we fought to win the World Cup and the (2016 Rio de Janeiro) Olympic Games. We went round the world to find votes and now we are in a worrying place for everyone who worked on that project. Brazil has an obligation to host a successful World Cup.

"The main issues are with communications, but the airports are a problem as well, and not just for the people here, but from outside as well."

Pele went on to talk about the situation of Santos number 10 Ganso, and affirmed that this was another situation which troubled him.

"This scandal around Ganso makes me very upset. I still haven't talked to him, but it is very sad to hear what is happening. There are so many players starting now and they already want to leave their clubs for more money.

"Ganso is an athlete who is only now putting an injury behind him. He must first think about returning to the field, taking things slowly: and after he can think about leaving. In all honesty this is all related with the agents and investors trying to end up with big commissions," the 70-year-old fired.

I would like to know more about Dede (22) [Anxderson Vital Da Silva] of Vasco Da Gama from the followers of the Brazilian football. So far i know that he is extremely tall [1.93m] and fair strong.

Benfica are keen on replacing David Luiz with him. I have seen some YT videos and he looks pretty assured in defense. His level of anticipation and composure seem pretty high. One for the future?

Also, when did Rhodolfo make the move to Sao Paulo??:conf:

I thought he was set for Genoa for this summer for 4m.

How is he doing?

Nacional Starlet Sebastian Coates Attracts Interest From Sao Paulo - Report
Nacional's defensive prodigy Sebastian Coates has emerged as a transfer target for Sao Paulo, as the Brazilians look to replace the outgoing Miranda in the Tricolor backline.

Ovacion reports that with the transfer window still not closed for Brazilian clubs, Sao Paulo are looking to strengthen their squad as they attempt to mount a Serie A challenge later in the year.

Coates has been a long term target for Sao Paulo following a glowing recommendation from Sebastian Abreu of Botafogo as well as former Tricolor star Diego Lugano.

Lazio have also shown interest in taking the youngster away from Uruguay. So far there has been no comment from Nacional or Coates concerning the rumours, but any deal would most likely have to wait until the end of the Clausura in June this year.

Still just 20 years old, the central defender has been a Nacional fixture for the last two years and has played over 70 games for the Uruguayan giants.

Celeste coach Oscar Tabarez recognised the youngster's talent by calling him up for the crucial World Cup play-off game against Costa Rica in 2009, although he did not make an appearance off the bench and missed the subsequent finals in South Africa.

Ganso left the meeting with Santos without a deal.

I think he wanna left Santos. :)

And about Dede, maybe if he goes to europe, his career could take a good path like was with Juan. Dede is playing in a team so bad that is hard to be apreciated. Sttugart or Leverskusen had also interest in him.

Thanks for answering :)

Btw, 2 more questions for you,

1) Realistically how much would Ganso cost Milan?

2) What is your take on Rhodolfo at Sao Paulo?

São Paulo bought Rhodolfo and Alex Silva recently (was already on team on a loan), I think this is to make for Miranda, who will leave in June. Sometimes they use a 3 mans defense, so nmaybe they will get Coates also.

Dedé was considered an error prone player when he first appeared some time ago, was too young also. But he improved a lot and made an amazing Brasileirão last year. Very good player, strong, fast and very good on the air...

Dont SP have Xandao as well, I remember that he was highly rated during the emergence of Breno.

I just realized something weird. SP have a huge defense, literally all 3 CBs would be tall, even if they get Coates, it will just add to their height.

Miranda 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in)
Alex Silva 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in)
Rhodolfo 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in)
Xandão 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in)
Sebastián Coates 1.96 m (6 ft 5 in)

Bertozzi is my friend. I'm thinking about proposing a bet about Abate. Like he will play for Azzurra till the end of the year or something. He really underestimates the guy.

bertozzi is a cool guy..

and abate dont pass confidence. I think milan soon will buy a guy for his position.

Maybe with some pressure Prandelli could call him. I have to admit.. abate is playing a little better.. but still not material to be on milans defense.. for NT could happen.. even motta is playing there now.

Yeah, you're right. Too obvious for a bet. Gonna think about something else.

Corinthians out, Fluminense almost, Santos poor... Altough the other 3 will qualify easily.

BTW, with the exception of Internacional, Brazilian clubs are really poor in South American competitions for years now. The last two titles are from Palmeiras in 99 and São Paulo 2005. (Inter got two after). Inter is the only Brazilian club with a Copa Sudamericana also... And there's an impressive number of finals missed also.

FIFA Confirm There Will Be At Least Five South American Teams At The 2014 World Cup
FIFA has confirmed that South America will have a minimum of five representatives at the 2014 World Cup, after it was agreed to keep the current 4.5-place qualifying system despite Brazil's status as tournament hosts.

The world football governing body held its first World Cup meeting yesterday evening in Zurich, where the first resolutions on the staging of the tournament were passed. Among the most contentious issues was the question of how many places South America will have in 2014; with Brazil qualifying automatically, under the current system four out of nine CONMEBOL nations would qualify directly, with a fifth taking on a CONCACAF country in a two-legged play-off to give South America the chance of having as many as six representatives in Brazil.

After strong negotiations however, a press release from FIFA informed that it was decided to keep the system unchanged, keeping the 4.5 places for CONMEBOL. With no alterations agreed, Europe maintains its 13 spots with Asia receiving four plus a play-off against the winner of the Oceania qualifiers. Africa meanwhile loses the hosts' place from 2010 and will have five representatives, and North America qualifies three countries and sends a fourth to the play-off with a South American nation.
