Don't get why Hernanes isn't there either. I can see that maybe you'd consider Lucas and Ramires over him, or more of a holder like Sandro(Brazil plays 4-2-3-1, nowadays right?), but still, the guy's got unquistionable qualities, and is in good form. Plus it's a friendly, why not give him a shot?

Edit: Oh yeah, just remember his last friendly :)

Corinthians out, Fluminense almost, Santos poor... Altough the other 3 will qualify easily.

BTW, with the exception of Internacional, Brazilian clubs are really poor in South American competitions for years now. The last two titles are from Palmeiras in 99 and São Paulo 2005. (Inter got two after). Inter is the only Brazilian club with a Copa Sudamericana also... And there's an impressive number of finals missed also.

Fluminense got to the finals of Libertadores in 2008 and to the finals of Sudamericana in 2009. Only lost because of the altitude of Quito.

Dogs interrupting football matches are far from unusual - but not when the mutt in question is supposed to be a highly-trained police operative.

Yet that's exactly what happened during a Brazilian league match last week.

Ituiutaba and Uberlandia were going head-to-head in a tense Mineiro championship match when a police dog named Agil broke away from his handler and attacked the ball.

The nonplussed players stood back helplessly while the crowd cheered on the feisty canine as he tried to chew his way through the match ball.

The red-faced policeman responsible for the naughty dog eventually managed to get Agil under control and lead him off the pitch, clearing the stage for Uberlandia to complete a 3-2 victory.

very true.

santos have a weak defence, they really need to sort it out.

They need a manager also. They have a caretaker and he was a disaster today. High line + a midfield that can't press against a team wich is all about long balls and counters on speed, that could not go well. Awfull at defending aerial balls also.

Also, Santos needs to figure the refrees in Libertadores don't sign fouls everytime a player fall to the ground like they do in Brazil. The game get physical more often. Some players were diving and complaining at any shock or contact, it was too easy for Colo-Colo defence to shut Santos cause of this.

It isn't a shirt that will be used to play, it's just to wear outside the field, mostly in bench. I think it's dark colored because dark colors absorbs heat better and keep the players warm.

Is the #2 kit. A weird green-blue shirt. Terrible.

Leandro Damião was call up to sub Pato in our NT.

Leandro was 13 goals in 9 games this season. He plays for Inter.

Leandro Damião is an old-fashioned striker, a physical strong player, awesome on the air, has very good finishing, like to play in the shoulder of the central defenders... He is not the guy with superior skills or something, but if the team feed him with crosses and trough balls, he can score for fun like he is doing now. It's hard to find this kind of player in South America those days.

He was on the "B" team last year, and looked very raw (though he scored in the Libertadores final). But he evolved a lot since. He was given a chance as starter early this season, and is playing so good that he secured his starting place every game, over Alecsandro (who was loaned out), Sóbis and the new buy Cavenaghi.

He is only 21-years-old, so he can play at the Olympics next year, I think this is the big reason why he was called up to the NT.

Thanks man, I like those type of strikers, hope he gets playing time against scotland so I can check him out.
