The key battle in this match is how we are going to contain their midfield three: Vidal, Pirlo and Marchisio.

A 4-3-3 formation would be suicidal. Either 4-2-3-1, 4-5-1 or possibly a 4-3-2-1.

Muntari would've been perfect for this encounter, if he was available and fully match fit. I would play a 4-5-1 with a flat midfield line and counterattack Juventus. Try and get in behind their wingbacks utilizing El Shaarawy and Pato's pace. However, a lot depends on the fitness levels of Pato. I would position Boateng on Asamoah to match his dynamism and physicality.

Milan 4-5-1:
Abbiati; De Sciglio, Mexes, Yepes, Constant; Boateng, Montolivo, De Jong, Nocerino, El Shaarawy; Pato.

Or

Milan 4-2-3-1:
Abbiati; De Sciglio, Mexes, Yepes, Constant; De Jong, Nocerino; Boateng, Montolivo, El Shaarawy; Pato.

Montolivo would assume his role for the Italian National team and play as a trequartista but slightly deeper and a form a close compact diamond in the centre of the pitch and sit on Pirlo.

Or

Milan 4-3-2-1:
Abbiati; De Sciglio, Mexes, Yepes, Constant; Montolivo, De Jong, Boateng; Bojan/Robinho, El Shaarawy; Pato.

*This is assuming Mexes and Pato will be 100%.

Injure the fucking Vidal and we'll win. That ugly motherfucker is playing like Vieira and Nedved combined this season. Rest of them are morons.

I'm most curious about how Allegri would line up for this. After Berlu's/Galliani's directives, he would be scared to use a 3-men defence. Otherwise, I wouldnt have minded him trying out Strama's 3-4-3 with Constant and Di Sciglio as wingbacks.

Otherwise, 4-3-3 is the way forward, but still - Nocerino in the midfield

RIP Totti
GDS reporting that Chiellini might miss the match as they won't want to risk losing him for the game against Shakhtar.Could be Marrone or Caceres who replaces him

no CB depth tbh

If they lose one of Chiellini/Bonnuci/Barzagli they are certainly weakened

if they just lose chilleni they are fucked. but their midfield depth is insane, their depth shits on ours. Their attack however usually misfire so that is a positive for us, we need counter attack them since i cant see us having any sort of possession against them.

Van Basten will be at Milan-Juventus
By Football Italia staff

Marco Van Basten will be at San Siro on Sunday evening to watch former club Milan take on Juventus.

“Van Basten will be in the stands,” Vice-President Adriano Galliani confirmed.

“It will be 20 years on from that great night against Gothenburg when he scored four goals and the most beautiful overhead kick in our history.”

The Dutchman spent seven successful years at San Siro, before he was forced to retire because of an ankle injury in 1995.

Van Basten has since become a Coach and is currently at Heerenveen after spells in charge of the Dutch national side and Ajax.

“I don’t know if Van Basten could become the Coach here in the future,” Galliani continued. “He could do one day, anything can happen in life.

“Nevertheless he will be here on Sunday as an ex-Rossonero player and nothing else. That’s also because I am faithful to Massimiliano Allegri.”

This is going to be a very difficult game. Juve are in great form and are better in almost every department.
