pancaro came to us when he was 31..favalli when he was like 34 and played like 75 games for us...yes oddo also came when he was like 31 but that's a different story as he's a born milanista and youth product etc

all these guys helped win trophies

To be fair, they came into far better sides, than the one Zaccardo is entering.

of course, goes without saying.

and these guys were not asked to be the ones to win trophies..just contribute when they could and be dependable. which is what zaccardo will be asked to do..and i think he'll be just fine.

notice, i didn't include stam in the previous post...who we got when he was 32. we payed big $$ for stam because we wanted him to make us dominant, defensively.

Curiosity: Milan's latest two signings, Saponara and Zaccardo, are both born on the 21st of December. Same height as well: 184 cm.

i'm embarrassed to say i don't even know this player. if he really scored an own goal during the WC 2006, i ought to remember him

anyway, with the mixed comments in his thread, i guess i'll reserve my enthusiasm/despair for this signing until i actually see him play for milan

have to say though...if zaccardo is the "one" world class signing that berlusconi declared milan would acquire amongst several young players...i'm a bit disappointed at this point

DeS is supposed to be regular starter if Abate leaves, but he is more then good backup. He could get a lot of games playing RB or CB.
Quality wise, he is as good (if not better then DeS) but DeS should start because of his age and potential.

He was starting RB at beginning of tourney. Had the OG v. USA

then italy flipped Zambrotta to RB, and put in Grosso at LB who basically played out of his mind. His best form ever

he is a solid player, and worlds better than Mesbah, and can play RB or CB. He isnt a starter, but should be a good backup
