I don't think Pato will be back for the derby, apparently he's on holiday in Rio with Barbara:

Pato pampers his Muse

While his teammates were playing against Siena, Alexandre Pato was very busy on other fronts. According to the Brazilian site Novasdodia.com, the Duck has been immortalized in a bar in the neighborhood of Santa Teresa in Rio de Janeiro, while cuddling and exchanging effusive with his partner Barbara Berlusconi. During the afternoon the two lovebirds were spotted hand in hand along the Corcovado, the mountain at the center of Rio De Janeiro. Hard times for the Duck, which, because of injuries, played sparingly, but, luckily, there is always ready to comfort her Barbara.

That was last summer. Pato is recovering in Milanello

Wonder if Petr Crouch had a spell of injuries after his growth spurt or was he born a gigantic troll? Hmmmm.

If he was healthy this season, and in form like last year, maybe we could have won championship.Last year we had 3 players each with 14 goals.I like more if we have three players who can contribute same, then one player with 28 + goals.Last year attack was well spreaded, when Ibra had 3 match suspension,Pato replaced him perfectly.Injury fucked us hard.Milan made mistake that didn't sold him when offer from PSG came, and replaced him with Tevez.

PATO'S AGENT: "When Ancelotti said that Pato was his objective we were happy, but it's too early to talk about the market."

08/05/2012 MILAN-PATO and PATO-BRAZIL

I want to go, working the best. I want to help Milan and the Selecao. Declarations of Pato to Rede Globo.

MILAN - Here are some statements, translated literally and taken by the interview given by Pato to Galvão Bueno during the program broadcast by Rede Globo Esporte Espectacular last Sunday: "I'm working hard and I think the Olympics."

During the last injury, Pato traveled to the U.S. to carry out some tests in order to make a good recovery.

The young Brazilian believes that all that work has played a role, despite the return to the field has been interrupted by another injury: "The decision to play in Barcelona was taken by everyone, including myself. "

Now, the objective is the Seleção. And on his relationship with Mano Menezes : "The only way I have to talk to him is the work in the field. I try to do my best."

Despite frequent accidents, Pato shows determined to continue his football career the best: "I live for football: it's my job, my life. When I can run, kick the ball, I always do it with joy, smiling.

It 'just that I want to do. Return to play well, do a lot of goals and give my contribution to help Milan and the Seleção.
"

During the program Robinho and Massimiliano Allegri praised the Rossoneri n.7. In particular, Allegri said: "Pato is a very important player. It 's been a season in which he could have played very little. It' s very young and I think this might be the best in the world."

I know he wants to and I think Milan will let him but he shouldnt play in the Olympics.

I think he just needs to rehab and have a proper prep for next season.

But country over club so I cant criticize him for that.

Pato 'working intensely' on comeback
By Football Italia staff

Alexandre Pato has told Brazilian media he is “working intensely and thinking about the Olympics,” explaining his latest Milan injury setback.

The striker has barely featured this season due to a series of muscular problems, including a serious thigh strain just minutes after making his comeback at the Nou Camp.

“The decision to play in Barcelona was made by everyone, including me,” he told Rede Globo.

“I live for football. It is my work and my life. When I can run and kick a ball, I always do it with joy and a smile on my face. It’s exactly what I want to do.

“I want to get back to playing well, scoring many goals and giving my contribution to help Milan and the Seleçao.

“Now I am working intensely and thinking about the Olympics. The only way I can speak to Brazil manager Mano Menezes is by working on the pitch. I try to do my best.”

Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri was also interviewed by the Brazilian programme and praised ‘The Duck.’

“Pato is a very important player. He hasn’t been able to feature much this season, but he is very young and this is why I think he can become the best in the world.”

Is this real????? Allegri stating pato can be the best in the world?

If so, very interesting. And i hope pato can indeed do so, and lead us to some scudetti and cls.

I'd sell him. Lord knows I don't really want to. But Pato is a heart breaker. He is the definition of injury-prone. Mentally, his head is up in the clouds too much. And despite his obvious world class talent, he goes out there on the field so many times and looks like he doesn't care to play.

If there was any other way to get this guy going to where he should be, I'd be all for it. But I don't see it happening. So I say get what you can for him.

funny interview of him.

"i dont have nth serious, midia said that i have 14 muscular injuries, it wasnt... was only 3 muscular in one leg.. another 3 in my other leg.. a little something in my knees and my ankles both trashed, but the ankle thing is normal for a football players."

Everybody knows Pato can be the best in the world. He has the necessary tools, but he needs to stop getting injured, which at the moment looks impossible.

I think becoming the best in the world is actually a more realistic long term goal than playing in the Olympics this summer. How does he intend to get selected really on the basis of this season? I doubt Mano would take a gamble on him.
