The finances are better. We still have debt, but it is easily manageable. And should be wiped out in the next few years.

I thought we were now debt-free?

If we aren't then it was fucking stupid to sell Kaka, because we could have restructured the debt and paid it off within a few years anyway!

Milan lost 30 million the year before the 66 million as well & if Milan had continued to pay the crazy wages with Berlusconi not helping then Milan would have hit big problems, so they came very close to clearing all the 96 million this summer & with wages down & going down further in future(Ronaldinho etc) they now have agood chance of other profits as well.

So instead of the debt getting out of control they are now in control without Berlusconi.

What this chap said. Selling Kaká wiped out the €66m loss we made. That leaves us with only the existing €30m debt. This will be reduced over time through the reduction in the wage bill. It won't happen immediately, because the club will only feel the financial benefit of a reduced wage bill at the end of a financial year.

The club will thus, in the near future, be self-sufficient.

The debt is only €30m. That is easily manageable without restructuring. And you don't usually restructure such "small" debts. It's usually huge ones that get restructured, and you normally end up paying more over time as a result.

What the sale of Kaká has done, is ensure the €66m loss we made did not get added on to our existing debt. Therefore, it has stayed at €30m, instead of trebling to €96m.

Milan posted a loss of 68 million euro's last season i fail how we how we have a debt of around 96 million euros it is not possible there is no way that we could be in that level of debt. according to Galliani Berlusconi paid off Milan debts in the 08 and 05 seasons Milan were over budget by about 20 million euros each season the times we have broken even has been won Milan won the champions league and in 06 when we sold Shevchenko for 40 million euros. In addition considering we haven't made a profit in 5 years the 30 million might as well be 300 million we are not going to be pay this off unless we sell players.

The smallish debts Milan made alot of years have been sorted by Berlusconi, sadly from last year onwards he has said he will no longer do this & so to stop getting into trouble Milan have had to get their finances in order for the last two years.

They have lost 66 & 30 million them two years & have sorted the majority of that already, with the bit that is left sorted with profits made after wages where slashed(should all be sorted in the next year with players like Ronaldinho & Oddo etc added to departures).

You need to read my post again. You've completely misunderstood it, because I did not say we have a debt of €96m.

And we will pay the debt off. We don't have to keep selling players.

To the above: a large chunk of that €30m remains. It's not magically disappeared with players being offloaded.

The key for Milan is to put themselves currently in postions to make profits & they have done that & are doing it.

Ok than would like to see were you guys get your information if you have copy of shareholders statement profit and loss account and balance sheet. It has been for known for some time that Belusconi has balanced the books each season with his own cash and the exception being last season because the losses made were so large.

Some years Milan did make profits(mainly small) & as you say the mainly small loses he paid off as well previous to the last couple of years.

Well done Leo. Has made a few decisions that have paid off.

1) Showing Dinho the bench. Hopefully that lights a fire under his ass and he'll actually begin to move it.

2) Play Abate at RB against relatively weak opponents. Good way to introduce him to the role where we definitely could do with more options.

Now, the big one. Get Pato back on track. If he manages, this could potentially change our season. Of course, he could do one better + reincarnate Sheva-Pippo in Pato-Huntelaar. Now that would be impressive.

Keep up the good work!

I stand corrected :)

Much as I'm not a fan of the buck-toothed superstar, I kind of feel sorry for him. Maybe Leo should send him to a shrink to get his shit sorted out.

that's what i was looking forward to...but it seems the two of them haven't "clicked" yet

hopefully a little more time practicing together and this will happen

Look at Cafu. :)
At this point he was playing as a left winger.. coz he didn't know how to play in the right-back yet.

Than the master Tele Santana teach him.. teach him well.

Leo is awesome

http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/SerieA/Milan/22-09-2009/leonardo-la-formazione-501369032199.shtml

"Leonardo non vuole perdere il treno. A cinque punti dalla vetta, dopo la vittoria di carattere del Milan con il Bologna, cerca altri tre punti sul complicato campo dell'Udinese. Crede fortissimamente nel gruppo e sfodera ironia di qualità. Del tipo: "La formazione di domani? Non la conosco ancora, aspetto la telefonata", riferendosi ovviamente ai piani alti del club rossonero."

"The starting lineup for tomorrow? I don't know yet, I'm waiting for the telephone call."

More Sandro love from Leo

"Nesta? The idea is to make him rest on Sunday against Bologna, but there’s a problem with Thiago and Nesta goes forward like a great example. Nesta excites me, his story, the way he is behaving...He is careful about everything, also on his team-mates, the right way, really extraordinary...”

Also, Hunter needs more confidence and Ducky's not a problem.

Leonardo continued, starting from Pato: “Each player gives a personal evaluation at the end of a game. The Brazilian players at times, make two tunnels and think they have played well. If we talk about Pato he is very instinctive, he must know that his movements can creates space for his team mates, Pato is 20-years-old, keep calm, he’s not a problem. If on the pitch Nesta and Gattuso scold him, during the game it can happen, but then they have a very good rapport. Pato is like everybody’s son, even he is a bit hot on the pitch, but there’s nothing. The turnover is made of choice and availability of the players, in the football world nothing is invented. Our path is normal, we try to use well the players, not to please them.

i wonder if this comment about pato had to do with the pass pippo could/should have made to him during the second half of the game against bologna. pippo took a shot and it was blocked and he got ahold of the ball again and pato was wide open infront of the goal...but pippo took a second shot instead of passing and his shot hit the goal post.

while i don't blame him for taking the shot, pato was yelling for the ball because he was totally unguarded infront of the goal. i can imagine he was somewhat upset for not receiving a pass from pippo given the obvious advantage he had at the time

Leonardo: 'Milan aren't in trouble'

Leonardo is not downhearted despite the defeat at the Stadio Friuli, insisting “Milan deserved a draw tonight.”

The Rossoneri were beaten 1-0 by an Antonio Di Natale goal, their second loss in the opening five rounds.

“We got off to a strong start and then conceded a goal 20 minutes in, so it all became very difficult as Udinese were focusing on the counter,” said the Coach.

“In the second half we created chances, but unfortunately as is happening a lot to us, we had possession and couldn't finish off those opportunities.

“In any case, I certainly cannot say we weren't sharp or impressive. Milan deserved a draw tonight.”

They have only scored three goals in the opening five games, while Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato have been on particularly poor form.

“At the moment perhaps we are lacking a little something at the front. Pato is always marked very tightly and he has difficulty finding space,” added Leonardo.

“Ronaldinho did well, he sped up the pace of the team and [Klaas-Jan] Huntelaar also tried to do his job as a goal poacher.”
