Thanks, gaizka22, for your advices.

I guess your son is the first Indonesian wearing a basque name. It´s amazing: I think you are a funny man...

Yes, the player on the photograph is Eloy Olaya. Eloy (his pile name) was the name that he was known with, and Olaya was only his family name. A fast, quite good winger on the right, who was able to score sometimes.

Unfortunately, he missed the last penalty kick in the match Belgium-Spain during the Mexico 1986 World Cup, and so Spain couldn´t meet Argentina on the semifinal.

I think that Sporting de Gijón had in 1987 a strange roster, with good players too old, and other medium players who did the job.

The midfielder Joaquín was my favourite player. He did put the quality on the grass. But he was then 35 years old.

With Joaquín on the pitch in the Lecce´s game, maybe Sporting de Gijón could have done something more against a very superior AC Milan.

Cheers.

In the goal DVD, there is a clip of the game showing the goals: 2 Penalty from Pietro Paolo Virdis and 1 freekick goal from Ruud Gullit (sweetly struck from outside the box). Don't know how to upload te video though :D

I remember Eloy Olaya simply because of that penalty kick miss vs Belgium. If remember correctly the kick was straight in the middle and eventhough the Belgian GK (Jean-Marie Pfaff) already moved slighly to one side, he was still able to save it.

I was actually rooting for Spain to win after they demolished Denmark 5-1 in the second round with Butragueno scoring 4 goals. They would surely give Maradona and co better fight since he used to play for Barca, at least some players know how to mark him. But then, in Mexico 86 El Diego was so out of this world and Argentina winning the tournament was probably a fitting tribute to him.

Oh my god, that Kaka-Sheva-Cafu goal. If there is any perfection in this world that is it.

And such a perfect example what have we fallen to.
