Seedorf in that pic reminds me of Muntari.

Looking at as what people see De Jong, and how I remember him at Ajax, it's, well, I would not have predicted this back then.

I think our team needs to slow down the game in general, when in possession. (And press more when not in possession). We are too hurried and headless. So from that principle, I'm OK with De Jong slowing things down. We need somebody attempting to restore sanity and calmness. The likes of Emanuelson and even Boateng simply don't think before making their pass/shot.

De Jong had a poor game last night though. But generally, I'm OK with his slowness and methodical passing.

If I have any complaint of De Jong, it is that he isn't pressing enough. But I think that's down to Allegri's tactics - no one in our team is pressing at the moment.

I dont think De Jong was bad last night, but I agree about everything else in your post, I have no problem with De Jong slowing things down, the team just burst forward every time they got possession, it was amateur stuff.

Ur also right that no one is pressing, and when they do they get beaten on the dribble very easily, especially Flamini :fp:

Holy shit! Seedorf is.............ancient.

He really is, I remember him from the days I started watching football

I don't understand why Allegri doesn't play him as an anchor, we have enough mezzalas. After he'll adapt to Serie A he'll be miles ahead than Ambro.

Ambro has been fantastic so far. So has De Jong

I'd rather see De Jong as anchor and two mezzalas like Montolivo and Nocerino next to him.

Did the dirty work today and moved where he was needed. Very important atm, he provides some amazing long balls when he feels save to do it.

He had a flawless game but ruined the wall leading to their goal. Improving in terms of positioning though and instructing others... hint of a Van Bommel in him.

Loved him. Would love gifs of his tackles.

But what was he doing during first goal? Boateng told him to switch and then went to sleep?

His first really good name. I like his delivery, it's better than MVB's. MVB is of course better off-ball though. He's started to make impressive tackles though and is surprisingly strong in the air for someone so short.

Being a lone anchor was unhealthy for him(and for MVB too imo)...it's not a surprise he's improving this much when we start using double pivot.
