Portuguese 1st division is the highest tier of competition in Portugal? Or it is second tier like in England?

highest, with the likes of porto, benfica etc.

portugese 1st div is very good to develop

good luck verdi

i hope you can become the new simao (or the new donadoni)

Why does he have to become the new Simao or Donadoni ? He can become Simone Verdi and a very good player cause he is talented from what I have seen. It is so annoying every young player has to become "the new someone in the past or still playing".

It is then a good deal for Milan and nice chance for Verdi to develop especially seeing the character of Portuguese (not tight defense like in Italy) the type of player Verdi is: likes to dribble and is fast.

I hope he takes that chance if the offer arrives. Going out from your home country is worth it to improve ability and makes mentally stronger.

pint sized midfielders need to be protected from physical players, not everybody in the world can have ambro and gattuso as personal guards

less physical, less competitive league to blossom , now its upon verdi to tear it apart over there dont do paloschi(in serie b)

Verdi moved to Torino in a co-ownership deal.

Could be good for him, if he gets some playing time. I guess I'll see him play when Brescia plays Torino next season...

there's absolutely no room for him, even in the pre-season. we have el faraone who must play + all of our big guns. it is better that he gets prepared for a good season in the serie b, it will be great if he will play in the first XI

we have been linked with Angelo Ogbonna from Torino, so I would say there is a decent chance this is part of that move

he wasnt going to play anyway, we already have a lot of SS type players. Verdi will get playing time at Torino, and like I said, this is likely the first part in a move for Angelo Ogbonna, so it would be similar to Merkel's co-ownership deal, except Merkel had more value to the first team.

I am normally against co-ownerships, and if we dont end up getting Ogbonna then I would be pissed, but if we do manage to get him then it puts us in the driver seat to end up with both of them.

Plus Verdi is only 19 (or will be in two weeks) so honestly he could stay at Torino for a few seasons and gain experience and hopefully develop into a player that can come back and replace Cassano or Robinho when the time is right

But this has to mean we are sending Antonini and Bonera to Torino for Ogbonna.

No Money just them two.

This is a good deal. Definitely he has no space in the first squad. And it's pointless to keep him in Primavera for the third year in a row. Now he needs to play real football, with senior players and against true defenses.

You guys are impossible - Verdi was an option at the start of last season but look who we have now, Robinho, Cassano and now a nother youth player that has more experience and we obviously rate higher than Verdi.

If he does turn out to be the next Baggio then we will buy him back, if not we move on.

I challenge you doom and gloomers to name 3-5 players we have lost that have become superstars and are superior than who we have now.

no problems mang

Antonini could move there I guess, Ogbonna has played LB before, so he would be fine as the 3rd choice LB after TT and Zambro

I think Bonera's wage might be too high to make it happen, but I'm pretty sure Antonini's is quite a bit lower

Why would they agree to a move to a Serie B club?

Verdi is very talented, but I'm happy for him getting some playing time and later on can return to Milan, hopefully.
Same for the two other Milan players, if they turn any good.

P.S. Whatever we do, just keep out Bonera/Antonini from the team. Give them away for free, no money/player swap needed, let them GO. It already hurts seeing them here. Put someone from the primavera or something, there is no room for worthless players...

Il Capitano!
Yes he is there with co own but you must understand that is the only chance for young player to have chances to play in Italy. If he is there only on loan they will not play him so often. And btw ODU (our other young forward which we send in Torino) scores the winner in 87 minutes and make one opposition player sent off for second yellow earlier.
In the same match for Ascoli played Beretta, other younger :)

De Vito's team Cittadella also won their game with him playing the entire 90 minutes (seems to be their starting LB now)

Romagnoli's team Pescara won their game also
