You don't get it, do you? The money will not be reinvested. It's going to pay off bank debt and reduce monthly payments. We're not selling Silva for 50 and then spending 50, we're selling Silva for 50, spending 5-10 to get someone affordable, and paying 40m off the debt.

Says who!

Buying super talents IS A GREAT INVESTMENT.

Playing for Milan for 1 or 2 years will SOAR the price to double, triple, or even quadruple.

This AC Milan, the greatest FC ever.

So you're telling me, if you loved Milan and played for Milan, and Galliani, who is a good friend of yours, comes up and says "MKD_z0ki, please accept this offer from PSG. It is for the good of the club. We need to sell. They'll double your wages and it will help Milan. Please, MKD_z0ki..." you would say no?

Give me a break. Thiago Silva is taking one for the team. If you don't give him respect for him for this, you either don't understand the situation or you're a complete moron.

that is not taking it for the team LOL that is yes i want more money yes please gimme gimme money B&G aren't gonna replace thiago silva money will go somewhere else B&G dont give a shit about football , EUROPA HERE WE COME :fp::fp::fp:

I think the bottom line is that if Milan wouldn't sell Silva for any price, they would tell him, "we got a massive offer from PSG but you're not going anywhere. You're out captain of the future." If this happened, Silva would be perfectly happy remaining a Rossonero for the forseeable future (IMO).

But if he's approached with, "we got an offer from PSG that we can't refuse" it's essentially telling him, "we prefer the transfer fee to you". At that point, I suppose Silva can turn it down (and some here expect him to), but asking a player to show loyalty when the team isn't showing that same loyalty is kind of unfair to the player. I'm not necessarily criticizing either party in this scenario. I'm simply pointing out the inconsistency in our expectations. Call Silva a mercenary if you wish, but Galliani went to Paris. Leonardo didn't come to Milan. That tells me (and Silva) that Milan WANTS to sell Silva...I'm 99.9% sure of this...

No matter what happens I'll still love this club. Yes, it sucks effing cock that we're possibly losing one of the best defenders in the world but I believe in something called cycles. No matter how good/bad next season is going to be, all I know is that we as Milan have a tendency to produce or buy and refine the best defenders. Baresi, Maldini, T-Silly, Nesta to an extent...

Point of it is, is that as a club with a great history like ours I'm confident to say in the defensive department that will somehow someway will get a more than adequate replacement. If there's one thing I have faith in, it's in this club.

He was dreaming to wear Barcelona shirt last summer.

Yeah I remember reading that. But IIRC, he said something like "it would be an honor to play for Barcelona" which, let's be honest, is true. It would be an honor for anyone to wear a Barcelona jersey. He never demanded a transfer to Barcelona and never said he preferred Barca to Milan.

Look it's just my opinion, I don't know him personally but he doesn't strike me as a guy who was looking to jump on the first flight out of town. If news comes out that he requested a transfer I'll be the first to say I was wrong. I don't think PSG was the first team to bid on Silva, just the first to offer (reportedly) close to €50M. That's on the club, not him, if you ask me.

Nothing ever Better or more honor than wearin AC Milan Jersey. AC Milan is the best FC ever.

Here what he said on GoalDotCom:

The Brazil international has been repeatedly linked with the Blaugrana over the past 18 months and he has admitted that he would find it very difficult to turn down a move to Camp Nou should the opportunity present itself.

"Although [Barca] are not having a good time [in La Liga], in my opinion they are the best team in the world," the centre-half told El Mundo Deportivo ahead of his country's friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

"It is the dream of every player to wear the shirt of Barcelona.

"I'm aware [of the rumours] through the media and friends, who tell me that Barcelona is interested in me.

"We have no formal proposal but you never know what might happen in the future.

"But I'll leave it to my agent. For now, I'm just thinking of Milan and returning there to win titles."

Thiago Silva, who has been capped 25 times by the Selecao, has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world since arriving at San Siro from Fluminense in 2009.

That's easy for me and you to say, we're Milan fans. But that's obviously not objective...

That's a pretty diplomatic response don't you think? He says it would be a honor for any player to play for Barca and then goes on to say that he's concentrating on winning titles with Milan.

you ppl are ridiculous, butthurt much?

silva mercenary? if moving to other club means mercenary then most of footballers are mercenaries, and this is the game of mercenaries  and him moving from fluminese to milan means he's a mercenary since the 1st day he joined

whatever, i'm just glad that milan can cover a part of 60 million (if its true) financial lost this season, and buying cheap prospects (signing another mercenaries  ) as silva and nesta's replacement, can't wait for next season!

Well now we're arguing semantics of a translated quote. You choose to believe he was shooting his way out of town, I choose to believe he was simply humbled to be the object of affection of one of the best teams in the world. There's no point in us trying to change each other's opinion.

Rijkaards' Barca played that 4-2-2-2 formation. Wow, it feels like centuries away. I think I've aged.

As ive said before , yes i want TS to stay but i would understand why G would sell him . 1- First of all he will never be worth as much as now , 2- 50 million for a defender (who's name is not maldini or nesta or any other defensive legend) is a lot of money , 3- TS is injury prone , 4- Berlu doesent have the money to invest in a proper transfer window , this might help , 5- If berlu decides to sell parts of the club , their cant be any debts . If we get dede with the cash + 1 lb and 1 cm , i would be pleased.

There's a post that claims we are 200million in debt. If that be the case then selling Silva and Ibra for 100 million would be logical given that Silva is practically gone. We might as well do it right, in that way we have only 100million debt and save on their salaries. Then sign younger players and hope G doesn't give them contracts that might suggest their his in-laws.

The so-called new Sheva, his name's kinda hard. I think he's #11. I don't remember where I read the rumors; been reading so many of them these days.

Andriy Yarmolenko. be has been linked to us in the past. 22. Sheva wants him to go here and it seems like he does too. he assisted Sheva's first goal at Euros, can play as a winger on both sides or as a more traditional striker

Milan started to seek the buyers for Silva 2 month ago, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Barbara asked Berlusca a few weeks ago not to sell Ibra and Silva, but he responded :"The things are going badly,I can't not to sell Thiago Silva"

Milan is also doing everything to sell Ibrahimovic, apparently this will save 65m.

Gazzetta dello Sport confirms that today Silva will be a PSG player. Milan will get 42m+ bonuses. Galliani has already booked a ticket to Milano (15.00).
Gazzetta reports that Acerbi is likely to arrive, but there are also Dede(Milan offers 12m),but the Brazilian side wants around 20m. and Silvestre(15m).
There is also an interview with Maldini in today's Gazzetta where he denys any contacts with Tiago Silva and PSG.

"I've never received any offers from PSG, in fact I've been there only once in order to make a surprise to Ancelotti. Yes, I met with their president, but I've never been offered any position in the club."
Convincing Silva?
"To be honest,I don't even have his cell phone number.I'm a Milan fan and I hope Tiago will remain with us"
