Leao is not the only good player, he is the best, not the only good player. Theo is a good player, so is Tomori, Mike and Pulisic and I am sure some more others. Okafor has excellent poacher instincts and a good eye for goal. I agree that he ought to play more often. However, the idea that he can do what Leao does is fantasy. He doesn't have the same capacity and draw - Leao is able to have 2-3 players on him, opening up space for other players. You add value to value, not subtract. Advocating for Leao to leave is misguided and terrible, terrible idea.

I would not be surprised in the least if Abate is our coach in 2 months. It will be framed as a continuity hire, a Milan hire, an emphasis on youth and a changing of the guard. All true statements. He'll also be cheap, to offset letting Pioli go.

At this point, I wouldn't be mad. Curiously, Abate is younger than Giroud, if I'm to provide some context to how raw Abate is, and how fucking ancient Giroud is.

Recency bias is there and he 100% needs to go but let’s not forget what we were for 8 long years and he delivered us a Scudetto doesn’t matter fluke or not and got us back to some sort of relevance in European stage. We are not a senile club acting rashly and cunt-ily. We respect people who don our colours and especially ones who have contributed.

Leao is a game changer
But he's not perfect.
And he's not a complete player.

Having a game changer is important to any team with ambition.
Pioli leans too heavily on him....to the point of overuse.
But within a decent setup, he is an asset with unique tools that nobody else has in our squad

Your calculation only works if we replace him with someone who does EXACTLY what he does.
....in which case that player would probably cost a heap anyway. And what do you have left?
A couple millions? That won't fill any gap.

There are a lot good wingers in europe who doesnt have too cost that much.
We shouldnt rely on Leao so much. Thats the mistake everyone make. Yea just give leao the ball and hope something nice happens..
Thats wrong. You need a complete team, players who wanna fight for each other.
El shaarawy isnt as good as leao, but he played really good for the team.
You dont need a leao or 1 “star” player to win games.
You need heart and a well organized team.
Girona have trash players, but they are 3rd in la liga. Leicester had kinda bad players back in the day, but they won the league.

And you need a coach with an actual vision and plan.

Thats all what we lack.. too many individuals, no game plan, just relying on leao too much.

Id give leao another chance in the pre season with another coach. If he fails, he needs to be sold.
