How about we get rid of Ambro, instead of our heart? Even Pirlo has been underperforming for god knows how much time, why not sell him and get a creative playmaker?

because gattuso will command 16-20 mil. Ambro will get 5-8. Pirlo i really dont think is thwe problem. The problem i see is TACTICS. 2 DMs does not work w/ pirlo, who essentially sits back like a DM. I'd rather not sell gattuso, and just bring a younger seedorf like figure (iniesta, aquilani etc...) but lets be real.

You just see so much more out of pirlo when he teams cant get all over him. When he has space....unfortunately for him to get space there needs to be another legitimate player in midfield. No one is fearing gattuso or ambro dribbling by them

fuck adebayor and drogba and splash £40mil on benzema who is only 21 and can lead the line with pato for the next 10 years if they both stay, he wont command £100+k a week and just in general is a better investment than both the others and has the potential to be the best player in the world.

As long as Anshitloti is our coach then dont expect G&B 2 sign any quality player unless he is useless or free.
10mil is 2 high 4 a starter GK that will mean half the team while payin Shitao , Emerson & Broccho + buyin Grimi for 3mil isnt?
Regardless of Dida , Ronaldo , Maldini & Pippo's salaries :o
Pathetic......

that is what i dont get! milan has the highest salary in italy... largely cause of old backups collecting 4-5 mil a season.

its poor business... i thought that was gallianis strong point?

really pathetic by milan to loose maggio to napoli
I was really pissed when I first found out about this but then I realized that it was a loosing battle. We definitely offered them more money, but he took the Napoli deal which was for less money because he is a devout inter fan. If he wasn't a devout inter fan (Maggio that is) along with his family, he would have been at Milan, but think about it... would you go to the team you probably hate for a a little more money annually? Probably not. So in the end, this was to be expected.

Unless you expect Ancelotti to open up his own cheque book what you said makes no sense. I highly doubt he'd mention the names of Boruc, Eto'o etc. unless he wanted us to sign them but obviously if G & B say we don't have the money then wtf do you expect him to do.

Of course not .... the pussy he is he wont open anything thats 4 sure.
I do however expect him 2 have some dignity + @ least shut the fuck up as a sign of disgust from G&B rather than stating the above + act as the voice of stupidity.

Obviously you'd get fired as a manager pretty often. You can't just say fuck you I'm done with this if you don't get everything you ask for. That might be how you tend to do things and good for you for standing up for yourself but sometimes you need to be content with what you have.

We Can't Afford Boruc - Ancelotti
Italian giants Milan cannot afford £10 million for Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc, according to their coach Carlo Ancelotti...
»Comments Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom The Rossoneri - also in the hunt for a striker such as Samuel Eto'o, Emmanuel Adebayor or Didier Drogba - report that they do not have the money to swoop for Celtic stopper Boruc, despite Ancelotti even admitting he wanted the keeper a year ago.

“I wanted to bring Boruc to Milan about a year ago, but now the price is too high,” Ancelotti told the Daily Mail. “Milan cannot afford Boruc. We made some efforts but it did not happen and now I have three goalkeepers in any case.”

It is suspected that a certain amount of money is being put aside for a striker - who will be the priority signing - and only leftovers will be available to purchase a goalkeeper, should Ancelotti look to briing in more quality to back up his highly criticised current crop of keepers.

Milan's general manager, Ariedo Braida, has hinted that Boruc is still a possibility. “Boruc is a wonderful goalkeeper, he has been incredible for the past couple of years. We are going to lose Dida, possibly Zeljko Kalac, so we need to bring in a new one.

“Boruc has a big price tag, £10 million is a lot of money, but I cannot exclude anything.”

What can be read into these contradictory statements remains to be seen, particularly as speculative rumours from Sky Sport Italia this morning alleged that Emmanuel Adebayor has agreed to sign for the club.

Milan are one of the richest clubs in the world & are around 45 million euros up on transfers this summer if you take into account the co-ownerships & loans. I think what they are saying all the time is if you don't except our offer be it with transfer fees or wages they move on & this has been the policy for a while, obviously this happened with Ronaldinho etc.

Milan could bid for any player in the world, but if the conditions are not to Milan's liking then it is off.

i just hope they r playing hardball, and trying to bring prices down....it is early in transfer campaign. Last few summers makes me think they mean it though. It doesnt help when both abbiati and dida wont accept moves....

Pirlo is a nice player and he was the best for Italy the other day. It is hard for him to do anything when he has the worst player (in top football) with the ball at his feet (Gattuso) and a bench player (Ambro) to his right and left.

Sell Gattuso and Ambro.

Our transfer policy does not make sense. We will spend 20M on Drogba for 4 years and then by that time 25 or 30M on another 30 year old striker when we we could spend 35M now on a striker who is <25. Makes no sense.

Oh yeah and the CB's still need help, b/c Maldini is going to play half a season again and Kaladze is not that great....

I am so sick of Milan and them not wanting to spend money. It doesn't make sense. We will give Adebayor 30mil and yet we wont use 19mil to buy M. Gomez and use the other 11mil to buy Boruc??? Does that make any sense. The answer is NO!!

Plus, I tried to get over the Maggio thing but just cant... Napoli are paying him 8 mil and 800,000 a season. We are paying Ronaldo "tranny lover" 8mil a season!!!! Why did we lose the race to sign him to Napoli? Only the asshole Galliani knows the answer to that one.

Galliani, you impressed me early with Flamini, Zambro, and Borriello, but you really have to come through now when it matters and get a topnotch striker and a goalie because those are absolute necessities.

And please just go and get Canini as a backup CB. He's young, promising, and we have the perfect players to learn under... Maldini and Nesta will teach him well. And one more thing... he will be cheap as hell!!!!!

Come on, this is the best thread in transfers. Actually the only one that really makes me smile :)

Anyway, this "scout" is trying to persuade us to buy this kid, as if any member on this forum has any influence at all on our transfers.

How much would this kid cost? Maybe I can buy him on my savings and build a team around him, then sell him for 999.999 millions yeah!

i dont want to defend galliani, but i spent like 3 hours reading previous transfer windows on acmilan-online.com.... aka archives of july/august from 2001 on and trend follows.... he talks alot about 1 player signs another. I think we tend to forget his bs speak. I hope this is right and he makes 3-4 more moves.... we shall see. Berlusconi is also not around to splash money and the board seems frugal.

anway i wouldnt consider gomez and adebayor the same. adebayor is atleast twice the player gomez is.... gomez is like gilardino. Adebayor can make things happen.

i dont think maggio was worth anwhere near 10 mil right now. I read he was getting 1.3 and 10 mil transfer(?)

canini would be nice though :-D

w/ boruc i only hope its to bring down the transfer fee. same wa zambro was 11 we got him for $7-8. if they want 10 perhaps it can be lowered..... plus simic wanting to go to celtic. Who knows......

I'm hardly impressed with our cheapskate reacquisition of Borriello. He has a lot to prove coming into next season, namely that he's not a one-hit wonder.

AC Milan keeper Abbiati set for Atletico Madrid return
tribalfooball.com - June 11, 2008

AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati is set to return to Atletico Madrid.

Abbiati has rejected a move to Palermo and will instead extend his loan at Atletico for another season.

If its true (witch i doubt) then we should get another Gk!

Yes it may be true becauze Galliani admit it that they will buy a GK only if one of our current Gk will leave. So if abiatti will return to Atl.Madrid,we'll buy a great GK which i think has very big chances to be -BORUC !!

World Class striker....Crespo?

From Goal.com

Milan On Standby To Pounce For Crespo

Milan are looking to take on Hernan Crespo if their moves for Emanuel Adebayor and Didier Drogba fail according to reports in Italy.

The Argentina international is still owned by Chelsea but he has been on-loan with Inter since 2006.

His deal with the Nerazzurri expires this summer and he may move to city rivals Milan on a permanent deal as it is unlikely that he will return to Chelsea just to warm up the bench.

Crespo played for Milan during the 2004/05 season and he played a big part in the 2005 Champions league final.

According to Stadio News 24, the striker could be snapped up by Adriano Galliani who is desperate for a striker.

Milan are currently involved in talks for Adebayor and Drogba but if neither of those players arrive then Galliani will pull out the Crespo card.

Reports in Italy claim that Crespo has already given his ok to such a move and he would be willing to move back to Milanello.

The Rossoneri are looking for a striker to replace Alberto Gilardino who moved to Fiorentina.

Carlo Ancelotti is a big admirer of Crespo and the coach always played him when he was at he club three years ago.

Take it for what it is worth...

I was always a fan of Crespo, and it hurt when he moved from Chelski to Inter, although his first choice was Milan, the management didn't want him back then, yet another error.

But this time around, it's too late, he's at the end of his career imo.

BTW one more from goalcrap.com

I Want Adebayor And Drogba - Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti admits that either Didier Drogba or Adebayor would be perfect for his side as the Rossoneri attempt to swoop for the Premier League hit-men.

Milan are currently working on both fronts as they attempt to prize one of the two away from their club’s in England.

Ancelotti is a big admirer of both strikers and he reveals that he would like a top class hit-man in his squad and he doesn’t mind which player comes to San Siro.

“I want a top striker and so does the club,” Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.

“Drogba? Adebayor? Either or, we have to see which one of them is ready to come to Milan.”

The coach also admits that Chelsea were interested in landing him before they secured the services of Luis Felipe Scolari.

“The discussion of me going there was closed straightaway, perhaps there was an interest on their part but I expressed my intention to stay at Milan.

“As for Mourinho, he has clear ideas and he has presented himself well to Italy.”

Reports in Italy claim that Adebayor wants out at the Emirates and Galliani is ready to begin waving his fists once again as he attempts to bring the Togolese striker to San Siro.

Great News!!!! For sometime now I was worried that management might go back to their old ways of signing old, past it superstars. Forget the fact that he's third choice atm, is old, slow and can't even squeeze a spot over a 17 year old- he's a world champion, former serieA top scorer and lef Milan to the finals in Istanbul where he scored two goals....you don't get a more glittering CV than that.....can't wait to see his name emblazoned across acmilan.com in gold. Glad to see that we learned our lesson with Vieri. Milan is doing their best to make us actually miss Gila :proud:
