That's beautiful. With the injuries we have: Perfect.

I agree, that's the perfect lineup with the injuries we have now.

I would pick Strasser if Rino really won't make it for the Roma match, please no Seedorf, I rather 'risk' starting with a youngster in that big match than having old Dorf in the lineup. Strasser had a good performance and didn't risk a yellow vs Bologna, he should be mature enough to start vs Roma.
Though I doubt Allegri will do it, but Strasser was a kinda positive surprise, so with the problems we have now he would be my perfect replacement for Rino.

It's a pity Zambro is missing too, he's our best LB this season, Anto was decent, but not that good. I hope though that he can show his best vs Roma, it's a big match and everyone will have to give his best.

The big question for this match seems to be Seedorf or Strasser to start.

Strasser Strasser Strasser! He didn't witness the Big Bang, never hung out with Jesus or had dinosaurs as pets as a kid.

And most importantly; he can run 100 meters in less than 2 minutes.

I love Seedorf, but it's time to let go.

We need a team that can run against Roma, so it should be Strasser. He played well last game, so he deserves another shot

From the looks of it I don't see why we don't put Strasser. He seemed pretty calm against Bologna ... and he can do his job. He may not set the world alight, but his position doesn't exactly need the 10/10 performance.

Ha ha. Thanks. It's just silly jokes. The aging jokes are a bit easy. Seriously though, all respect to Seedorf. I mean it.

We're without Oddo, Zambrotta, Thiago Silva, Gattuso, Flamini, Pato and Inzaghi. In other times that would be called an injury crisis.

to be honest i dont really mind about gattuso and zambro, and its evident not too many Milan fans are worried about Zambro either cos i noticed there wasnt one message in the Milan - bologna thread worrying/asking about Zambro going off injured. yea hes been playin well enuf the last while but he is more than replaceable, and i like Antonini so he shud hav no prob replacing him..

its just a real shame about Flamini cos he would hav slotted in perfect for gattuso, duno who now..Allegri wil harldy take a chance on Strasser, i reckon hes clearly gona play seedorf

Strasser is not ready for this kind of game, we are talking about important serie A fixture with Roma, not last 16 in Coppa.

Allegri's task to pick the team for this game is pretty straightforward, we have a whole bunch of guys in hospital. Only question marks are if Rino will be fit somehow for the game to take Seedorf's spot and if Yepes or Sokratis will impress this week enough to play over Bonera (I don't think so).

All in all if no new injuries show up team will be:
Abbiatti - Abate Nesta Bonera Antonini - Boateng/Rino Ambrosini Pirlo - Seedorf/Boateng - Robinho Ibra
Bench (very very thin):
Amelia Sokratis Yepes Strasser Ronaldinho and 2 from Janku Merkel and Verdi

Forza Milan, let's end the year with a win and 6 points lead over Juve and welcome back the missing guys in January.

I think we definetly can and have to take the three points, I guess 3-1 or 2-1 or something.

Is Sandro OK for this game? Hope so.

.

honestly no one knows how Strasser would do. I bet that no one thought that Santon would be ready against CR7 a few years ago, and that worked out ok. Some players shine on a big stage, we wont know about Strasser til he gets a chance.

He looked good last week with a lot of time, so I dont see why we shouldnt give him a chance over Dorf, who isnt playing all that well.

You could have stopped there ;)

But honestly, this reminds me of last year's injury crisis when Nesta, Zammy, TS, Pato, etc were all injured around January/February... and we lost 4-0 to United.

Obviously, we have a much deeper squad this year.

If we compare Pato's injuries to Messi's growing pains, how much longer do we have to put up with these injuries? When did Messi stop having them?

And any idea what that Duke University specialist said/did about Pato's problems?

since our left side of defence (bonera, antonini and pirlo covering) is going to be crap, I feel that this tie is going to have its fair share of goals, I just hope we take our chances and control the midfield.

Milan veterans Gennaro Gattuso and Gianluca Zambrotta have been ruled out of Saturday's high-profile clash against Roma.

The duo played in the 3-0 win over Bologna on Sunday at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, but did not make it through the action unscathed.

"The official in charge of health at AC Milan, doctor Gianluca Melegati, announces that Gennaro Gattuso submitted to imaging scans today that showed a mild strain of the satorius muscle of the right thigh. His recovery time is estimated to be 7-10 days," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Gianluca Zambrotta, during the match yesterday, suffered a lateral stretch to the posterior capsule in his left knee. Tests have ruled out ligament and meniscus tears and the expected recovery is around 10-15 days."

Therefore the two Italians should be ready for action when the Rossoneri face Cagliari on January 6 after the winter break.

Ahh man!! I really hope Seedorf wakes up!! Almost screw our clean sheet and only play for 20 minutes!

I think we should play the way we played last match. The system of play that have currently made us the top team in Serie A. We should stick to that, and improve on it with each passing game and work on its finer intricacies. Not change the way we play, for the Roma match. We aren't playing Real Madrid or Barcelona ffs, to go around tweaking our formation.. We are the big boys. We play the way we play. That is what I like my team to be like when playing the likes of Roma of 2010-11 so far. Pile on their misery. And having Seedorf where Boateng played last match is NOT the way to do that. Seedorf at this stage of his career doesn't have the pace to make runs between the Roma defense and midfield, to get on the end of those crosses and square passes, and score. That is why I want Strasser to start this game. He's gonna have to do it some time..

'Boatinhovic" is our most lethal weapon at the moment. Allegri should not break that up. Plus Pirlo plays MUCH better with Boa making runs uptop instead of Dorf who will look to dictate play like Pirlo.

I would rather take 70% performance of Rino in Strasser(maybe more but atleast 70% id say) than reduce front 3's efficiency, and Pirlo's efficiency by playing Dorf.

Yes, Dorf is a big match playa and everything but not at the cost of changing whole team dynamics.

But yeah i can totally see Allegri taking the safe option and playing Dorf at AM :(

That would be perfect, Rino in midfield right and Boateng advanced.

If Rino doesn't make would be an idea to play Seedorf in his place and let Boateng upfield.

Allegri prensa to Strasser if Gattuso does not recover
14/12/2010 12:15 by Peter Mazzara article read 662 times

Rodney Strasser could be the middle third against Roma. Massimiliano Allegri has a great view of the median of Sierra Leone who, against Bologna, it was very disengaged and did not regret what he could to be a master of the role. If Ringhio could not recover for Saturday's race, the Rossoneri could launch the product from the first minute of the nursery Rossoneri confirmed Boateng behind the strikers.

There's a chance Rino might recover in time, he trained separately today, but he was working outside and not in the gym, so that gives me hope he could make it for this match.
If not then I vote for Strasser to replace him, bad we don't have Flams available, then we would have a perfect replacement for Rino. But Strasser is a good option too, a much better one than playing with Dorf.
Strasser is ready, he's 20 and always trains with the first team, I would play him even in that big match, I trust him and I hope Allegri does too.
