Before people think I'm hating on Nocerino, I have huge man-love for this guy even if I don't show it as often as you guys . :D , but he really is getting way too overrated on these forums. He's a very good players, and one hell of a purchase - there's no doubt with that. He's a pretty smart player as well, and his positioning is the best thing about him that and the fact he can shoot the ball in the net. The reason though he looks so good is because he fits this setup so well. Ibra & co open the play really well, and this gives Nocerino the chance to position himself in empty spaces. That being said, he's not very talented when it comes to keeping the ball under pressure and passing it like he should + defensively he ain't that good as well. He's a very good player and I love his game, but what if we had a complete midfielder in that position? Sure, we don't and I'm thankful we have him.

Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. People talk about dream signings and what they want our starting lineup to look like after these signings and it still has Nocerino.:lol:

Well that would be stupid, but if the forum user is realist, for the price we paid Nocerino is fuckin' bergain.

I haven't seen you posting any positive thing about Noce, while he is (I think) our 2nd top scorer this year. You mad bro because he benched Slowdorf?

i dont give a triangle if he is limited in other areas, but he fits our play perfectly and that is what i care about... we are reaping the rewards and we are lucky to have such a player at low low cost and wages.

honestly, what else can you ask more from him? defensively he'll only get better but for now... DONT FIX IT IF IT AINT BROKE

noce is performing... just nod and approve his awesome, let him be... he can only get better

Not really. I wanted him benched against Barca to let two proper footballers(Aqua and Seedorf) start instead of just one, and I got what I wanted. His extremely limited skills don't get exploited in most Serie A games so I don't mind him starting there.

Bargain, but we still got a slightly above average player.

He definitely doesn't fit our play perfectly against teams who aren't pure shit and can give us a good fight, which we've seen against Barca, Juve and yes even Roma and Cagliari.

Didn't he play out of position against these teams except Cagliari? And if you sum up the bad/avarage games against big teams, around 80% of Milan players are not "big game players". Even TS wasn't good in return leg at San Siro.

his game against barca (first leg) was his first start... first cl game with us... barcelona... and he was playing on the right

you gonna judge him on that?

remember Juve... we conceded two when Einstein Allegri thought putting on Ambro for Noce was a good idea... and Antonini came on for an injured Nesta, when Yepes wasnt there.

he is only getting better... and he isnt overhyped here.. just an extremely awesome transfer which worked wonders for us

He's showing the same weaknesses in the LCM spot so I don't really think him playing in that position instead would've made much difference.

TS wasn't bad against Barca. We were playing attacking football against Barca, which had turned out to be suicide for other teams, yet Xavi needed to dive for them to take the lead again. He could've been better, but he was definitely not bad, unlike Nocerino in those games mentioned.

Thing is, it's not just in "big games". Right now we're very vulnerable to off-ball pressure and Nocerino being so shitty with the ball is one of the reasons for that.

“Among my players Abate has made the most significant improvement. Last season Abate improved defensively and now he’s improving offensively. He will continue to improve. The best foreigners in Serie A in 2011? Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. The best Italian player in Serie A in 2011 has been Antonio Di Natale. The squad of the year? I will say Udinese. I would give Walter Mazzarri the Golden Bench award.

Who is the symbol of Milan? It’s too easy to say Ibrahimovic or Thiago Silva, so I’ll vote for Nocerino.” Massimiliano Allegri

For all of those loving Nocerino (i'm a fan myself I'll admit, for now, but) he has his flaws and Goodfella notes these perfectly. Against Cagliari, he'd be attacking down the left wing/left midfield area, he'd fuck up and lose possession, and Milan would be hit on the counter because he's meant to be the other midfielder who's meant to track back, but because he'd lost the ball it was too late to run back, this happened a good 3/4 times and it was really quite worrying. I'm sure this happened against other teams too but it was all too obvious against Cagliari.

I really like the guy and I bet he's such a nice guy to be around and whatever but he really isn't world class, however Milan have no alternative at the moment. If the team could find a true world class destroyer type then Nocerino would be more useful but his skills in the final third are more about shooting/late runs/off the ball pressure, but on the ball he gives it away far too much and attacks break down and counter attacks are formed.

It's so odd, because he can play football much better than Gattuso, but how poor has Van Bommel looked this season without Gattuso by his side? Nocerino was seemingly the tireless fighter-type of Gattuso but clearly he isn't anywhere near as good as Gattuso at that or else the defence would've been far more solid this term.

@ ppl who judge Nocerino defensively: Ever watched Nocerino regular playing for Palermo? or are you all judging based on this short period?

If you didnt watch him @ Palermo:
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Together with Migliaccio & later Bacinovic (in midfield) best defensively. Even vs bigger/stronger teams than Palermo like Milan, Juve, Inter, Lazio, Roma, Napoli. Where they were pressured to death Nocerino defended the fort almighty.

If you are basing your judgement on what you've seen him do in Milan so far:
:fp::fp::fp::fp::fp:
stop it

I think he's important at the moment. He's in great form and deserves to get all the praises. If he can keep playing like that consistently, then we'll know what he's all about. Right now he's ben in a top club for half a season, took his time to adapt and is doing great. Little time to reach any conclusion.

I don't think he's really that good. Looks a squad player, but who knows? Me and half of the world once thought Abate was a piece of shit a couple of years ago and now he's a very good full-back. Maybe Nocerino could follow the same path, with the advantage of having skipped the "piece of shit" step

Well in Palermo he'd be in a team that against at least a quarter of the league they are considered underdogs so would adopt a counter-attacking system if I am not mistaken, feel free to correct me if I am wrong. But this system means he is bound by tight constraints to stay back and as you say defend the fort. Something he managed very well against Barcelona in the first leg I shall give him that. But in Allegri's system I believe he's given more freedom and with this, attacks frequently but now and then screws up and Milan are caught on the break.

I think why some people are not impressed with him as others are is because fans of this club have been used to Gattuso for the past decade or so who in his prime was an absolute beast of a player in the defensive phase. Something which - laugh all you like - Nocerino has not yet shown in his career to the degree Rino did. He's still young and has potential and I'm excited to see him grow but he is a little overrated still, even though contrary to this I actually do enjoy watching him play (most of the time).

I cant believe it how many nocerino fans are on this website.I am totally blast...:D

While he may not be an exceptional player, he is one of the few who understands that being in Milan means you have to play at 140 %(n/ russian :o) all the time. He is playing out of his skin and if some of the more naturally gifted players had this attitude we'd do way better. This is why i like him:thumbsup:

Totally agree :)

People like hard workers who are just like us. Nocerino's right attitude pays him off really well, as Gattuso would never have reached what he did if not his personality.

Forza Nocerino! :star:

Like you care?
If I had a perfect 10 manbeard like that I'd quit school and my job and just stand in front of the mirror petting that facial hair. Or offering people to touch it at the local mall.

Though his emergence is just suprising to say the least, if I recall correctly he was dubbed one of the more promising players of his generation some years ago. Shows what you can do with the heart to do it when given the chance.

My friend(who was a huge Jube fan some years ago, girlfriends obviously tend to kill near erotic associations with football) tried to stuff his name into my face by telling me how he's been called the new Rino. If he'd still follow Serie A as intensively as before, I'd break into his house and tattoo pics of Noce to his gf's boobs so he'd be always reminded how Milan has a nice run of turning fringe players originating from our rivals into match winners when she takes her bra off.
