Not happy with the more demanding training methods? Not happy with being substituted in the derby? Not happy playing out of his preferred position (whatever it is)? Not happy with dead boring Dida as his partying buddy? Not happy that he can't get the attention of young nubile ladies away from being mesmerized at Leonardo's beautiful hair?

Leonardo: I'm learning lessons

Leonardo tries to put the derby debacle behind him and focus on Saturday’s trip to Livorno with an eye on Andrea Pirlo’s new position.

“I was accused of lacking experience, which is the easiest criticism that could be aimed at me,” said the newcomer after a 4-0 defeat to Inter.

“Even if we had won the derby 5-0, the next day they could have written the same thing. In my position there are obviously pros and cons, but I carry on along my path and I know that being criticised also helps my growth.

“This is an experienced team and they can absorb the derby blow easily enough. We don’t want to forget the derby, as we can learn from it about our strengths and weaknesses.”

The crushing loss was added to dismal pre-season performances, but Milan return to Tuscany tomorrow, having beaten Siena 2-1 in the opening weekend.

“Livorno play a pretty similar style to Siena, although of course every game has its own tale to tell. We had to prepare for this match without our internationals.”

One of those was Pirlo, who rediscovered his form at the advanced point of a diamond midfield in the 2-0 win over Bulgaria.

“I have spoken to Andrea a lot recently about his position,” admitted Leonardo. “He played a great game for Italy in a different way from what he usually does at Milan. I think it is something we can evaluate gradually and see what options we have for the future.”

Marco Borriello, Daniele Bonera, David Di Gennaro and Gennaro Gattuso are injured, so Klaas-Jan Huntelaar should get his first Serie A start, even if that means leaving Pippo Inzaghi to take over in the Champions League.

“Inzaghi and [Clarence] Seedorf are in good shape and Pippo has the same hunger for goals that he did aged 11. My choices are made game by game and Pippo has remarkable motivation, he is an important player for us.”

Lets be fair to Berlusconi he has helped out Milan massively over the years & been brilliant for the club.

He might not be helping much now with no signings , but no one can question what he has done for the majority of his time at Milan.

Leo looks on the bright side

Leonardo blamed bad luck and poor finishing for Milan's failure to break down Livorno. “We could easily have won.”

The 0-0 draw at the Stadio Picchi represents another damp squib for the Rossoneri, who were thrashed 4-0 by Inter a fortnight ago.

“In the first half we were pinned back into our own half and struggled to get support in to the strikers,” confessed the Coach.

“After the break we really wanted to win and created so many scoring opportunities. We could easily have won today, considering all we did.”

Andrea Pirlo was on the bench, but created their best chance late on when his free kick thumped the underside of the crossbar.

“When Pirlo came on he played well, but what counts is the performance of the collective. In the first half we struggled, we did better in the second.”

Livorno President Aldo Spinelli did not agree with Leonardo's summation of the match, though.

“Our performance was wonderful and everyone played well today. I saw an excellent Antonio Candreva, who can achieve great things alongside Francesco Tavano and Cristiano Lucarelli.”

More general crap.

Seriously Why am I not suprised he would of said something like this.

"We must not judge players on their own but the team as a whole. The second half was better and I am pleased overall."

Someone should remind him that the season has started.

He won`t last long,it`s becoming pretty obvious. We should do the right thing and get an actual coach that will get results, and we need to do it before the whole season gets screwed because of the the first few games.

Hopefully Leo can get back to his old role,or something higher in the club.

Believe me even the best coaches in the world cannot get this squad in the top 4, just look at Ancelotti who had abetter squad & did'nt do it.

Unless we can get in Einstein there is no point in changing coaches.

Forget Leo & concerntrate on Berlusconi for any abuse.

Where we go from here? Whats Leo's "plan B" now that Ronaldinho has failed? I can't really see us play without a "trequartista" with this material. No wingers whatsoever.

I lost the list.
plan B? if anything, his plan B is Janku... we got nothing to cover for dinho, or pato or anyone to do what janku and oddo should be doing.

our first team is bad and our second team is worse.

we can't blame this on Leo.

I appreciated his optimism in the pre-season, but this "I saw improvement. No, really!" bullshit from Leo is getting old.

yeah, it's not making my day either :(

New nickname: CarLeo.

Those substitutions today were easily 2008-09 Ancelotti vintage.

Milan played better after he had made them though, so if Ancelotti would have done it or not it still worked to some degree.

I think Leo still believes that kaka is still here. By that i mean that milan last year was average but were still assured a baseline level of results regardless of how shitty we played. Unfortunately the main reason that was the case was because of kaka. He has to understand that nothing is assured anymore until the players reach a comfort zone of not actively thinking of what they're doing and doing it instinctively. Mourinho speaks about this extensively. I lost count of the number of times our formation lost shape and players drifted in a desperate attempt to scrape something out. This is one of the most poorly organized versions of milan that i've ever seen and it's not even Leo's fault. It's completely B's stupidity/stingy decisions. It made me sad to see how well loved Carlo seems to be is Chelsea already. Meanwhile leo was commenting on our players' qualities and ended up talking about kaka  You know you're screwed when your coach still speaks of a departed player like he was still there. Not that i haven't gotten over the sale either.

I hope his imminent replacement wont get him fired and the 2 tards will get him back 2 scouting. The worst thing would be if him and milan depart ways for good. He may be a shit coach FOR NOW but his a great scout

It is impossible to know whether Leonardo will be a good coach or not because he has been left with a weaker squad than Ancelotti was struggling with.

Milan where average with Kaka' & are bound to be worse without him because he his a fine player & Milan's squad is also weaker than last year because other players have gone & Paolo has finished as well who was still playing well & an inspiration.
