This is a very cool resource for the ambitious traveller!

There's a few great looking venues here that would be worth a visit- a great stadium adds a lot to the experience of watching a match.

Allianz Arena. Munich. Very interesting stadium. It is Blue when 1860 plays, Red when Munich plays, and White when German Natl team plays. Milan will be here April 11.

they have a fabulous stadium. not much space for expansion, but it would be awesome to see them in teh CL with that beauty of a stadium.

Should be cool thing since it comes from the city of megalomania - A first look at New York's first ever 'soccer-specific stadium'

every mls team is going that direction. Most are really nice, but a bit small... ussual capacity around 20,00...
That being said there isn't demand for larger":

My local teams new stadium: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Earthquakes_Stadium

and to see alll...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Major_League_Soccer_stadiums

The best is probably Home Depot Center (where galaxy and chivasUSA play): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Home_Depot_Center

Dear football clubs,

Stop trying to build the Emirates.

kthx.

M84, the Earthquakes stadium would look pretty decent (steep sides, closed corners) if it wasn't for being 3 sided. 3 sided stadiums are horrible, horrible places.

The concept is simple though. for now they will struggle to sell it out consistently. But with the growth of the game in the US and the MLS the stadiums are built in a way it's easily expandable...

I love earthquakes game. Always get to sit close and yell at players. They will often turn and acknowledge you personally. Or like beckham.....try to kill you

Aye, but in the meantime it'll be depressing. Sucks the atmosphere out of any stadium. If it has any atmosphere in the first place that is. Do the Earthquakes have their own version of the impossibly gay L.A. Riot Squad?

not necessarily. The loudest stadium in the US is built like that. Qwest Field. NFL team Seattle Seahawks play there and actually the mls franchise seattle sounders (who have freddie ljundberg) play there. It was measured and loudest by a large margin of all outdoor stadiums. It's really surprising for thesounders too, cause typically big stadiums like that will only get half capacity for MLS games, which should make it worse... but it doesnt

If it's built vertically and enclosed enough it gets louder.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qwest_Field

Seattle's a depressing city w/ 365 days of rain a year too, so it's not the people lol

For mls games they will actually put a tarp over second tier, and close it off so max capacity is only 32k for those games and its still insanely loud

I'm not disputing that, but it strikes me as a terrible place to watch football.

this is a terrible place to watch football

Delle_Alpi_UEFA.jpeg

the emirates stadium is a perfect ground to WATCH football, unless when you say "watch" means shouting out useless shit about the opponents and swearing at them.

Emirates layout is great. No bad seats. Just bad fans who are about as loud as a mime. Highbury library part 2

Aye, well, we both know my love for football isn't as pure as yours.

Shiny new modern all-seated stadiums just don't encourage fans to create any atmosphere, with a few exceptions. I'm seriously worried about what Aberdeen's new stadium is going to be like. They've already got the location wrong (I know it's the only place where there's available land, but suburban stadiums are shite), and I'm scared that we're just going to get a soulless Lego kit stadium.

Also, all new stadiums should have this.

Emirates stadium is a beautiful stadium to look at but it lacks in certain areas namely functionality and emotional connection with the fans, plus it hasn't been graced with any silver ware yet. the most beautiful stadium i have seen is the San Siro i also been to Siena stadium which is pretty shabby but the town is absolutely picturesque nou camp is also quality. I still haven't been to any of the south american stadiums i heard that they are absolutely stunning.

San Siro is the best. Granted I've only seen that, the Olympiastadion Munchen and the Camp Nou, but I cant think of any stadium that would beat the San Siro.
