Cruijff and Beckenbauer's achievements as coaches shouldn't be belittled.

Ok Calum, I'm back..you had a few aims at me and now I'm listening..

Yes I'm a genius, I'm pretty successful for my age, I've got a great life ahead of me and I adore Barcelona. Deal with that. ;)

Agreed, Messi wasn't allowed much till the 'unfortunate' red, but he did great with those 29 minutes or so post-Pepe..he did a lot of running then really. Saved those breaths for when it mattered. I remember when Xavi had a free shot or so in the first half and Lass had his two fingers up in protest..probably confirming the double-marking tactic Mou instructed his players to follow...he was like, Xavi had so much space to hit one when two guys (at least) where to be with him.

Marcelo did spend himself much..while Messi was on his run to score the second there was Marcelo chasing..he didn't even last a minute or something, went totally still..oh, and there was the Afellay burst after the first goal..Celo just couldn't keep up.

Sometimes get the FULL picture.

Cruijff and Sacchi are both great minds who've suffered from the same syndrome since leaving the game. Shame.

The same kind of comments Cruijff make about Mourinho now he said against Capello in 94, when he was still a manager and days before the European Cup final.

At least now he's not part of the issue anymore.

That wasn't aimed at you. Anything that was aimed at you was under a quote from you. Why would I resort to backbiting on the internet?

Narcissism is an ugly affliction.

ok.. revisiting the tactics arguments from a few threads earlier...

perfectly fine with madrid employing counter-attacking tactics against Barca but the manner is appalling... Inter last year were a constant threat throughout the 90 mins despite playing counters.. why? coz of the players.. intelligent, disciplined and fast.. eto'o, sneijder, milito... current madrid team come nowhere close to that.. they seem to be more like lets stop Barca from scoring and score if we get lucky..

unfortunately/fortunately for them, thats the best they have played in the clasicos of guardiola era.. in the league and CL games, i didn't find any reason why madrid should "deserve to win" more than Barca.. as for the playacting, shameful players on both sides

Xavi:

"I just want to talk about football. There will always be decision from referees that will be talked about. Sometimes they go against you and sometimes they go in your favour. It was clear to see for everybody that Pepe's dismissal was a correct decision"

"We got the result that we deserved. We were again superior. We're a team that wants to play attacking football and have fun on the pitch. They [Real Madrid] are just hoping that we'll make mistakes. That worked in the Copa del Rey final, but not this time.

"I don't want to talk about [Jose] Mourinho. I only want to discuss Barcelona. We put in a good performance and it's a fair result. This is a victory for football."

You're different from the very specific type of prick to which I was referring, in that you actually admit to supporting Barcelona.

Fair enough. :)

My point though was that Mourinho and his Real Madrid aren't given enough credit imo. Guardiola is in his 3rd season with this Barcelona, and before that coached the youth team for 2 years which included many players who are involved with the first team now like Busquetes, Pedro, etc...

He created an effective system that has won them shit load of games/trophies, yet Mourinho created a system after 29th November (the date of the 5-0) that is able to stop Barcelona or at least compete with them. And it wasn't a one off since they drew La Liga game with 10 men, they won the cup final, and today they lost after Pepe was red carded.

I'd respect Barcelona's achievements more if they didn't get them with the help of the ref. And I'd respect Barcelona's players/team/fans more if the players didn't dive and moan/surround the ref at every moment, while their fans (mostly gloryhunters) are arrogant as fuck. Also, they're very bad losers.
What Mou did with Inter is far superior than what he did with Real.
I liked Inter more than Barca last season even when Barca had more possession which looked like what Mou wanted to begin with.
Inter looked disciplined , sharper & even more dangerous which was Mou's doing.
They were a team with a plan & Real arent so far.
So why praise them when they simply are parking the buss & waiting for a Barca's off day ?

Am eager for next season to see what Mou will do.
Am also eager to witness Barca with the current players without Guard.
And I dont mind to follow Guard with a different team but even if he failed & vanished he will still be one of the greatest coaches in the history of football simply for adding new things in the football world even if its for a period of time with one team.
I mean Cruyff and Sacchi failed outside Barca & Milan & they are both regarded as legendary coaches.

If that was off the ball I'd make sure that no one was watching and just kick him as hard as I can.

Oh no he fucking didn't. Give yourself a shake, Xavi min.

Xavi disappoints me. He's one of the best players I've ever seen, so I would love to like him, but he's an arrogant wee prick.

I agree, but their are reasons for that. First of all, it was Mourinho's 2nd season with Inter, this is his 1st with Real. Second thing is that last season Inter had all their key players ready and in top form, Sneijder, Eto'o, Lucio, Milito, Maicon, etc... but now Mou had Carvalho suspended, Khedira out, Kaka and Higuain not match fit, etc...

This sort of thing happens in football, but vs a team like the current Barcelona you need the perfect performance to beat them, and especially over two legs, so it's hard to achieve it yet he came pretty close. I agree Madrid especially today looked like they just defended and waited for the 0-0 which was disappointing for some, but considering the circumstances (Mou's 1st season, players missing, ref decisions) I think Mourinho deserves praise overall for how he handled all the clasicos.

Am eager for next season to see what Mou will do.

well..almost winning the game while being down 0-1 (penalty goal) for almost whole 2nd half in 2nd el classico deserve some praise..also not allowing them to breath in that 1st half in copa del rey was really amazing..i think they didn't have a single shot towards the goal, even their possesion wasn't good...overall really good season for a team that is still in a building process

won spanish cup after 18 years of failing, someone can call that trophy lame but kicking out two finalists from last year and beating 'best barcelona ever' in the final isn't lame

playing in the CL semifinal for the 1st time since 2003 deserve some praise

I cant understand some of the people who are against Barcelona.

Wtf they dominated Madrid in all the 4 games that has been played this season, except maybe the first half in the final of the cup.

In the last three matches especially in the league game and in the final. Madrid players BEAT UP Messi. They kicked his ass. They didnt stop him, they kicked him like some big boys catch up a little guy in the corner.

Mourinho made his players tackle Messi from behind it happend serval of times in the final of the cup and it happend today. It's a shame for a player like Alonso who has won a CL and was in a CL final and won the world cup to tackle a player like MESSI in that way.

Barcelona players whine? Madrid has Cristina, Maria in their team.

Barcelona well deserved the win they got a possesion in a SEMI FINAL match 71% it could have been even bigger in the end of the game. In a semi final match in Madrid's own fucking yard. And people say Barcelona didnt deserve to win.

All hail to the king Messi :star: Showed that he's better than that girl.

You confuse domination with possession.
(edit: I probably said it wrong. Possession isn't the same as domination is what I meant here)

the reason real madrid were failing in the spanish cup is because most of the time they never really cared for it.

the only contribution real madrid made this season was stopping barcelona from having 2 trebles in 2 years.

You cannot dominate without possession?

I dont think a team can dominate if they have an attack each 20 mins. Madrid for example :D

You obviously don't understand. Barça had a lot of possession, but what benefit did they have from it? There was rarely a shot on goal in the first half. The game was very boring and it had 0-0 all over it, until the red card showed up. Until the red card Barça weren't that dangerous. Yes, they had a lot of possession, but if that doesn't turn into (many) goalscoring chances you aren't dominating, just having lots of possession.

Why should I consider barca as more dominating?[not today but for the entire season] Just compare real madrid facing barca and third placed team like villareal or even Milan, They have the self belief to win but with barca they are looking not to lose... massive difference.

Mourinho not playing kaka and not trying to attack much with masch as CB and with iniesta in the midfield was :conf:

Joses fail attempt of making pepe a dessaily, 5 :star: for the effort thats why I <3 gattuso so much he would have destroyed the midfield in an appropriate way

Buy essien and give him some steroids

Anyway it was not a quality match I enjoyed the madrid humiliation
league
1. el classico when it mattered 0-5
2. el classico when la liga was done and dusted 1-1
Kings cup
3. madrid 1-0 extra time
Champions league
1. first leg 0-2

 even mourinho cant help this team , i hope mourinho leaves real this year for EPL

At least Barcelona was trying to attack and keept on attacking.

And what did Madrid do? was defending with 10 men and beat up Barcelona players, made 50 fouls in Messi and kicked the ball out as far as possible.

I think Mourinho actually got his tactics wrong, he played too much defensive and sat back wayyyyyy too much. For his Home leg he should have been set out to win the game.........

My take on yesternight's 'Battle of Bernabeu'..just a few happenings that mentally stuck.

Di Maria was quite scary in the first half..had some brilliant bursts down our right. I've observed this: Dani has low composure..once under continuous pressure he errs much..those confrontations before his yellow showed so..the same thing happened in the return League leg when he brought down Ozïl for the penalty.
It was really strange to see the normally placid vulture/human thing :D animated after Alves did him a bit on that wing..counting with his fingers. He's human afterall.
Thankfully Mr. Urban Legend wasted all three (?) freekicks from those horror Alves tackles..and another central one which went straight out of the stadium.

Speaking of which, Mr. Urban Legend aka Vagino Ronaldo aka Mr. Cunth :) was anonymous all match..except for maybe that exasperated shot after one FAIL! freekick that Valdes did well to parry, even making a double save. I mean, based on formation positions, Puyol was to be the designated CR7 marker since he played LB..but he didn't have to break half a salty sweatdrop doing that sorta shit..Keita and a free-roaming Busquets did that amicably, though it must be said that Mou's intentional gameplan was to funnel much of the gameplay AWAY from Mr. UL/VR's zone..Lass and esp. Pepe had a lot more of the ball.

Busquets deserved an Oscar statuette for his interesting dive v/Marcelo in the first half..I admitted that here during halftime. :D

Talking of dives, boy..we were DIRTY atypically, but yeah that's part of football ain't it?

Pinto's red I missed..some altercation in the tunnel at halftime or something..at least he'll be there in the Wembley dugout, complete with his San Andreas braids. :)

Pepe's red=harsh, but right. Intent folks..there was obvious malicious intent, and the challenge was high, that with the studs as well. Had it connected properly that would have been redolent of the Gattuso challenge on Corluka..some bad shit.

For this reason Marcelo should've gotten a clean byer from the ref, had he seen that stamp on Pedro's thigh..Ped had a great chance to open the scoring there after the initial Villa shot, don't know if he was offside with that low header or not, but it was an awful attempt..

And then the thigh-crushing stamp.

You know, was good that happened. Celo got his come-uppance with Ibra's introduction..the Dutch Ibra. :) Fresh pace, fresh, fresh, fresh..just at the time Marcelo had started gasping for breathers.

JF's red? Lol at him writting some golden SHIT in his makeshift prison..didn't change a bit, hahahahaha!!! He did give the fourth official a mouthful and a load of sarcastic winks, so hey.

I complimented Messi's finishing before..OUTSTANDING stuff.

Keita had a supposedly quiet game, but he was instrumental in keeping the possession in the middle, and in starting the forward pushes with Xavi. We didn't miss Iniesta, thank God for that.

Adebayor otoh was a total fuckhead, shoving, shoving, shoving his way stupidly to a deserved yellow, no other contribution whatsoever.

Villa needs to rebuild his predatory confidence from the scratch..he's a totally changed guy compared to his Valencia days. Yeah, his new LWF status in Barca may be an excuse, but it's tenuous..he flourished roaming on the left early in the season, and in the WC after his transfer had been announced. Silva's done much better at Shitty all season. :(
It's a mental thing..hopefully he'll sort that out a bit within the last six games of this BEAUTIFUL season.

I've left out much, but I'm quite tired already.

We deserved the win..defending deep and tight, hard multi-player pressing (tires players quickly), waiting for errant counters..you call that football? Is that what the whole planet's fallen in love with?

You cannot be serious.

And Pepe's tackle wasn't intentional/malicious. Lord knows how much of it was Dani Alves playacting. Judging by his usual antics, I'd say quite a lot.

I do agree Cristiano was utter shit though.
