Nocerino set for Milan future
By Football Italia staff

The agent of Antonio Nocerino has rejected the idea that his client could leave Milan during the January window.

The 27-year-old was a revelation last season thanks to 10 goals in 35 League games, but he’s only started eight League ties so far this term.

“I don’t think Nocerino will leave,” Marco Sommella told Radio CRC. “He has a long contract and he’s just won his place back in the starting XI.

“He, like the rest of the side, paid the price for the club’s generational change in the summer but he has picked himself up.”

Nocerino, born in Naples, is often linked with a possible move to his hometown club.

“He’s a Napoli fan,” Sommella added. “We’ll leave the door open and he’ll be the happiest man in the world if he one day plays for Napoli. Otherwise, he’ll just continue to be a professional.”

I feel Noce fits in better with the 4-3-3 system we play now and we should give him the chance to prove himself. It seems though, as if some of the basics are very far off (I cringe every time he tries to chip pass, although he made a good one for Boa's goal vs Arsenal).
If he wants Napoli at some point that's fine - maybe sooner rather than later. They could probably use a mindless runner..

If he were scoring like he was last season, people would be singing a different tune. It kind of cracks me up how easily swayed people can be over goals. I'm sure if he were so bad, Prandelli wouldn't call him up.

Trust me when I say this, I was critical even last season. I just don't think he is a player for the Milan squad. He can run and open spaces and fight for the shirt, but thats just it, it isn't enough. We need players who will step up to the plate and make differences, just like Montolivo and El Shaarawy.

Tbh in terms of shooting from long range, Nocerino has always given me more confidence than Boateng. His technique for his shots always seems to allow him to strike the ball cleanly and with accuracy and power.

Wow no. He was our best player after Shaarawy today. Do you want to know who's fucking useless though? Robinho. Garbage player who should have been sold this summer, if not already back in the last Januari transfer-window.

Out for a walk.
Didn't watch first half, but second was utterly superb. He played better than against Juve. Hopefully he can keep on this road of progress!

Good game tonight. Especially after Monto was subbed. Controlled the flow from midfield to offense in addition to making good runs as always.

Played really well in the second half. I didn't even know he was on the pitch in the first though.

his passing = zero. Robinho's passing = best in Milan atm (Montolivo aside).

I would have agreed with you year and a half ago but his decline is painfully obvious. The man still misses sitters and now he can't even hold the ball for more than 3 seconds against a team like Catania anymore. He's Brazilian league material now, not Milan.

Plays his role and follows instruction well, but the team would be much better if we had somebody with more technique in that role.

Just let homeslice be...he's in his/her/its little bubble. Imagine a little child with its fingers in its ears going "LALALA can't hear you!"

missing sitters has nothing to do with the overall impact on the game dynamics. He influences attacking phase more than anyone else, making space and key passes for runners like Nocerino to do the only thing they know: run.

You know who else did the same thing? Gattuso

I idolise the man, but he didn't have much going for him besides pure aggression, stamina, and willingness to fight. Maybe some good dribbling and a goal on a better day. You need that type of player. You need someone who is going to fight and rile people up if need be it.

When did I say Nocerino was our saviour? Like I said, this is the only place where I've seen people describe Nocerino as below par for Milan. Was he below par when he scored the second most goals for us last season?

I'm inclined to think that if the majority of people outside of this place have no qualms about Nocerino and the fact that he has such a strong following amongst people that actually go to the matches, then it makes me think this place is a bit delusional.

I'm not sure how someone "sooooo bad" manages to regularly feature for Italy ever since he arrived at Milan.

I think you don't understand what sarcasm is....
I also would like to know where I compared Nocerino to Cafu or even said he was in his class.

I agree with this, Ive only been here a couple of weeks but I was really thrown back by his hate. I really don't get it. Sounds like he had a good game today although I did not see it.

He gets a lot of unearned hate.

The last 3 games he has been among our 5 best players. Many do not like the way he plays but he is great in important games, and as many players mentioned he is important for the team.:star:

It's because people are expecting us to play this ultra beautiful football, but forget you need strong, tough players for matches where teams will park the bus. These are the types of players that rile people up and make them push through.
