I remember wet ones saying that he hated seedorf because in terms of talent, he was probably the most talented player in ancelotti's Milan(something along those lines) and I agree.

the fact that he was/is so inconsistent stopped him from being a legit ballon d'or level player, he's not any less than zidane in terms of talent.

Correct. He had better technique than Kaka, equal or better vision than Pirlo, and he is very, very intelligent.

But he chose to exhibit all these only whenever he wished.

I think this is a misconception btw, that seems to grow every season in this forum. We did NOT have a super-great team for several years.

We probably had the strongest squad in Europe in 2 seasons. 2004-05 and 2005-06.

1. In 02-03, we were in the early stages of building a team. That CL quite honestly came as a surprise. Ancelotti over-achieved, considering the strength of his team

2. 03-04 - Team was stronger, and freak loss to Deportivo. Yes, here a portion of the blame can go to the manager for not motivating the players right. But still, we won the league.

3. 04-05 and 05-06 - We had the strongest team in Europe. The peak of the Ancelotti years. And zero tituli. This is where all the complaints are coming from. Istanbul - portion of the blame to the Manager? Possibly. Against Barca where the ref fucked us over in 06, and they did have a great team with a prime Ronaldinho. I won't blame Ancelotti for this.

4. 06-07 - We were nowhere near being the strongest squad in Europe. The team had started to wane, and still, we won the CL with a dream run in the last part of the season.

So my point is, Ancelotti underachieved in Istanbul and in A Coruna. But he overachieved in Manchester and in Athens.

We can't just say he did less with a great squad, because he really did have a great squad only for those two seasons in the middle. In the other seasons, it was either a team being built or a team on the wane.

Another thing was that you had to prioritize either the CL or the league, especially back then, when squad-sizes were not like now. Juventus were very strong in the league, and we did finish 2nd to them in all the seasons.

Overall, it was a brilliant time, and the no. of titles we got justified the strength of the squad.

you have a point .. may be 2007 title amortized it .. i dont agree though .. 2005 final :fp: and bottled the league against jube in that one game :fp:

that was the strongest squad by far

2005 and 06 zero tituli shit

deportivo 4-0 lead OMG ..

After 2007 before Allegri's arrival, we were busy trying to secure third place every season with players like Emerson. It was G who brought the spirit of defeatism and now Allegri is nailed on the cross for reversing that. God bless you Max, the best to you.

Number 10 is free from next season. :g:

You know what the sad part is? I actually believe he will do well there just like Pirlo (not as much), but will be a disappointment here. Anywho, Seedorf should leave, and then it's up to him what he does...

Don't like these players...

I can honestly say him leaving Milan would be one of the happiest days of my live. In fact, him leaving is 6 years too late IMO. Never could of really stand his attitude. There must be something wrong when you get booed by your own home fans as much as he does.

Really? I think he'll be an epic fail wherever he goes. Pirlo's problem was tactical and motivational, both of these got fixed at juve. Seedorf's problem is that he's fucking finished. Even when he tries to be useful these days he's just pathetic. So he's welcome to go hog on the ball and fight with the coach somewhere else.

The sad thing is that it doesn't fucking bother him.

You actually need to be able to run to play for juventus. Unless he is getting a lypo on his derrier i dont see that happening.

If rm/barca still want cl trophy then they should secure his signature now. The x factor, before it's too late.

Tbh Seedorf still can do some run.
And Andrea Pirlo, he's very capable to play for jube.
If you play PES and the ball is on Pirlo, that'd make the function of R1 button useless.
People here always being unjustice, Seedorf older and become slower, that's natural. And people often call him Slowdorf.
Pirlo was born slow, maybe 10 months on his mother's womb, but nobody's here call him Pirslow.

As backup for Pirlo he should do fine, but yeah, unsure about when they both play how Seedorf then will preform. You could be right he is finished, that is what I've thought myself at times too this season, but he wasn't half bad against Barça.

Pirlo was born slow but he never had issues covering ground. Which is what he does well for jvuentus. He may struggle in a 1 on 1 but being able to cover ground allows him to always be free to receive the pass. Seedorf is a mezz'ala for heavens sake. A false winger. What kind of a winger/false winger cant run anyway?

Nah clarence can still play.

He needs space to operate though. More space than pirlo. And as he's aging he needs even more space.

Whether this means a really clever set up, like allegri did last year w/ him at LCM constantly moving inbetween channels, or it just means moving to a lower league where qualities less, I'm not sure.

lol

pirslow. Lol

I don't know why that makes me laugh so much.

-

The only thing that ever annoyed me about clarence's game was when he was constantly used at AM. Because he isn't quick enough to play it there. He needs to see field from further deep to make an inmpact. In putting him at AM, we not only slowed our team down, we also diminished pirlos impact. Before Seedorf became AM, we'd play kaka or rui there who could latch onto pirlo ball and play a quick 1-2 and get in attack ASAP.

Woth seedorf there, it was just like with ronaldinho where pirlo's play it quick up to them ,and they'd dwell on ball and shutter attack.

-

Hindsights 20/20 but basically from 2007 on, it was clear we should have only used 1 or the 2 (pirlo/seedorf) at a time, and used other as his deputy. Because they both serve similar function (albiet different styles) but because the lack of legs from 07 on they can't cover the necessary CM ground together.

AC Milan News ‏ @Milanello

RUMOR: Botafogo would be intensifying their contact with Seedorf for him to join them the next season.

Botafogo's vice-president: "We're in contact with Seedorf. We want to bring him to Brazil to play for us."

Botafogo's vice-president: "The only obstacle with regard to bringing Seedorf to Botafogo is the financial aspect."

Correction: It was Botafogo's vice-president who made the declarations about Seedorf.

Botafogo's vice-president: "We were impressed with Seedorf's knowledge when we met with him last year, and he speaks very good Portuguese."

Botafogo's vice-president: "The only issue is the financial aspect, how much we can spend on the transfer fee and on Seedorf's salary."

Botafogo's vice-president: "If I get the green light from the club, then I will travel to Milano immediately to sign Seedorf."

Why would there be a transfer free? Wouldn't he leave for free since his contract runs out anyway?

Is Botafogo participating copa libertadores next season? Seedorf will be there to win that.

Maybe fee for Seedorf, not the club.
All FM fans know that when they wanna make a deal from bosman transfer.
