They have a good chance of finishing the season unbeaten, I thought they will lose in March-April when they had their hellish schedule, but they managed to do a clean sweep. I don't know if there are any teams left who could beat them ,on paper I think only Roma has a chance of doing it.

I think the most important thing to note is that not everyone has played the same amount of games, that is probably also the case in Serie A and Liga BBVA.

No one gives a shit. LULZ if Milan clinches the title :fp:

It is been talked about a little here in the UK, especially among Arsenal fans, I think it would be an amazing achievement if they win the league. I still think Milan will clinch it though!

If they're gonna be unbeaten then they shall win the league as well. Otherwise it's worth nothing

Didnt Arsenal went unbeaten in 2003-04?
Or are you just talking strictly about Serie A?
Though I really dont care they've had a shitty unbeaten season compared to ours in the 90's

Moratti: Football had to stop
By Football Italia staff

Inter chief Massimo Moratti insists that postponing the Week 33 games was the only option after the death of Piermario Morosini.

The Livorno man collapsed and died during the Serie B game against Pescara on Saturday afternoon. It was then decided that the rest of the weekend games would be re-arranged.

“It was an obvious choice not to play,” the oil baron noted on Monday.

“To not play was the only decision that could be made because the situation was serious. It gave the right signal and that is how you respond to pain. It was terrible.”

Udinese, who actually own the player, had wanted their game against Inter to be called off even before an official announcement was made.

“Our players were distraught, so it was inevitable that so too would Udinese’s,” added the Nerazzurri President.

“We are talking about one of their teammates, they knew him well. It was a serious situation, a horrible one and football understood it. They understood it abroad too.”

A decision on when the cancelled Week 33 games will be played is expected later this evening, but Moratti has cooled reports that Inter are not in favour of the Lega’s thinking.

“I don’t know the technicalities of what is planned, but the problem is the Lega as a whole in the sense that any issue becomes a problem, even a difference of opinion.

“We’ll do what is right – I don’t think now is the time to cause any kind of controversy.”

We can't compare two teams who've completed the feat in two different leagues. Arsenal are the last and only team to go a whole season unbeaten in the PL. Porto did the same as well last season with an impressive 27 wins and 3 draws (they only have 16 teams in their league).

Perugia already did that and ended the season second behind AC MIlan, let's hope for the same this year. Only match left for Juventus where I feel they could be beaten is versus Roma, the rest of their fixtures are easy on paper. Although in football anything can happen, I cannot count the matches i've seen one team take the opponent's goal by assault having a zillion chances but not score and the other team do one counter and win the match 1-0...

It would make the title sweeter if they finish unbeaten. Sweeter for us if we win and sweeter for them if they get scudetto.

Roma to keep Marquinho – report
By Football Italia staff

Roma boss Luis Enrique has reportedly asked the club to keep hold of Marco Marquinho for the 2012-13 campaign.

The Brazilian joined the club on loan in January from Fluminense with the option to be signed outright for around €5m in the summer.

A midfielder with a past at Botafogo and Figueirense, the South American has scored twice in nine Serie A games so far.

Livorno retire shirt for Morosini
By Football Italia staff

Livorno have announced that the No 25 jersey will be withdrawn from use following the death of Piermario Morosini.

The midfielder tragically collapsed and died of a heart-attack during Saturday’s Serie B game against Pescara.

The retiring of the Italian’s shirt number was expected and has now been confirmed by the Amaranto.

“AS Livorno Calcio communicate that the ‘25’ will be retired forever from our official numbering to honour the memory of Piermario Morosini,” read a brief statement.

Vicenza, who Morosini also played for, have taken the same step with their No 25 shirt.

A wise man said, one can survive everything nowadays, except death, and live down anything, except a good reputation.

And other wise man said: the life of this world is made up of three days: yesterday has gone with all that was done; tomorrow, you may never reach; but today is for you so do what you should do today.

One day your life will flash before your eyes, make sure its worth watching.

Tuesday April 17 2012 Football players' 'hearts are enlarged'

A three-year study in Siena has found that professional football players have marked differences in the shape of their hearts.

The issue has been in the forefront in recent weeks with the collapse of Fabrice Muamba and death of Piermario Morosini.

Today the CardioRobur medical study that began in August 2009 between AC Siena and the cardiology clinic in the Santa Maria alle Scotte hospital had its results published.

It involved monitoring the cardiac function of the players over the past three seasons, “allowing excellent results in the area of scientific research,” explained doctor Andrea Causarano.

We showed that the heart has different cardiovascular characteristics that are peculiar to athletes in top level sport and adapts in a dynamic manner during the season based on the type of training,” added Professor Sergio Mondillo.

This is important when optimising training to improve performance with great focus on health. These observations were presented at various Italian and European cardiology seminars.

In football players, the cardiac chambers and muscular mass of the heart are enlarged, with ulterior incremental improvements in the functional capacity of the organ.

With further tests on stem cells in the youth team players, we also noted how intense training or a sedentary lifestyle provide a different stimulus to the production of stem cells and therefore probably different mechanisms for self-repair.
