I think Leao whips his head into shape if we sell Maignan and Theo and bring in some good locker room guys like Modric, and of course Allegri

He has 3 years left on his deal, I think we should give him a year under Allegri, whose style I believe will suit a dribbling/counter attack merchant like Leao
Sorry but how many chances are we going to give him to "reach his potential " ? He has been through 4 coaches already, granted played very little under giampaolo, but really stagnated and even regressed starting with the latter part of Pioli's tenure. He doesn't play particularly well in the national team either. I do think he is very talented but just doesn't have the mentality to go next level.

30m for Svilar? Maybe Saele enters the conversation again.

I quite rate VMS, but Svilar was GK of the year after all.

Hard to grasp the scope of our summer window. It's looking a bit like the 2017 revolution at this point. I'm quite worried about the quality of our squad in August.
Agree, I believe the quality is going to be a major asterisk for next season. If it's what I think it's going to be, then we will be fighting it out with Genoa, Fiorentina, and Torino.

Fav. Players
Tier 1: Maldini, Nesta - Tier 2: Kaká, Seedorf, Shevchenko, Serginho, Theo, Leao
These rumours about Mike, Theo and Leao are making me very uneasy. We surely cannot sell all this window along with Reijnders? That’s suicidal!!
It's looking like an exodus of 2022 heroes at this point. Theo's situation seems quite stuck though. And will the club actually sell Leao?

Out of the three, Mike is my first choice of players to leave. First it was injuries, then it was inconsistent performances.

My expectation is that Mike and Theo will leave, and that the club keeps Leao for another season at least.

However much the club itself have created the situation with these players, we're past the point of no return and we need to regenerate a winning Milan. No looking back.

Well that's the issue with Leao, consistency just not "Well there was this time..."
I mean he was good enough for Portugal to warrant a starting spot in a massive tournament and then was good in the subsequent friendlies

He's also been good at the club for a large % of his tenure

so "this time" would be a majority of the time

So you are saying that Leao has been good almost always and all the critique he has gotten about consistency from fans, pundits coaches, ex-players etc. mind you is a blown out issue?

No he's had a really poor season and deserves criticism

Most of the criticism from pundits/ex-players seems to be about him not hitting his potential which he probably will never hit

but as to your point of him not playing well for Portugal is just wrong

You missed my point, which is mentality/ consistency...I am not sure why you are hanging to the last part of my original post, where I briefly mentioned him playing for Portugal. But now that you bring Portugal up, Iam not wrong if you want to view his displays for just Portugal. I have watched Portugal games in the past year and he runs hot and cold there as well!

We cant shit on managements unprofessionalism but still accept it from our star players.
These players would have gotten such an assbeating in old grande Milan.

But now we panic when non team players with stats is leaving.

Tonali and Reijndeers should still be here tho. That’s players who fight for the TEAM.

Hard to grasp the scope of our summer window. It's looking a bit like the 2017 revolution at this point. I'm quite worried about the quality of our squad in August, but after this season my attachment to our current squad is microscopic. Tare in the pressure cooker.
Obviously we should have rebuilt from Reijnders but that's in the past now.

It's looking likely that we're keeping Leao and Pulisic as the only important pieces from the past. Allegri will decide if he wants to keep Santi as his starting CF or if we should splash on someone more certain. I think we'll keep him and Camarda in the end, there's far too many important investments to be made elsewhere.

Defense needs to be completely rebuilt, and it looks like they're going with experience to guide the midfield, which isn't a bad idea.

Seeing as how our biggest problem has been the defense and us leaking goals, I can sort of see the logic of Allegri saying 'I can't work with these idiots' and just starting fresh with a whole new group.

The cycle ended way too soon, and i'll be the first to say it ended in failure regardless of the unexpected scudetto. That early title probably ended up being more harmful than we thought, as it made our stars think they don't need to work on themselves anymore and that they made it. Everything just atrophied and without Maldini and his planned investments, things just coasted for a while and we ended up where we're at now. Maybe a shock to the system is what's needed at this point.

If the data team is looking at the numbers then Theo and Maignan have clearly not been up to par and aren't worth what they're asking for. We all know that they can get back to being the best, but the safety first accountants think it's better to cash in now than take that risk. Sell the hyped up players while you can and invest in younger less hyped replacements. They're going to moneyball the hell out of this mercato.

Looking at the numbers again it's also clear that Leao and Pulisic have been amazing and you can build a team around them. Same with Reijnders, but whatever. Everyone else is expendable if the price is right.

15M LMAO.
I don't think we're gonna accept.
It's a world cup year. They'll both play professionally in order to stay starters with France. I'm sure we have a number that makes it worthwhile to sell now before they go for free next summer, and if no club can give us that then it's probably worth it to just keep them and let them walk for free. Who knows maybe things change and they regain their best form and we renew, but if if that doesn't happen we'll know that we tried to sell and nobody wanted to pay, so we shouldn't regret anything.

I'm not trying to justify anything. All i'm saying is that they probably have a number where they just say screw it, we keep them until next summer. If that number is less than 15m then that just means they think even less highly of Maignan and Theo than we thought.

The biggest failure has been to allow this situation to fester for so long, to accept mediocrity from the players and also to not put them in a position where they can improve and feel wanted and at home. Clearly shit broke down when Maldini was fired, the players became completely isolated and that was the inflection point. We either should have made a decision to sell them earlier when they had way more value, or we should have rebuilt the trust and renewed them when it was possible. One year out the players always have the power and we're at their mercy now.

It was fun for a while with Tare and Allegri. But the sense of impending doom is back, it will be a revolutionary summer and we can only hope the new squad will be competitive. Thankfully it's Tare responsible for incomings.

Trying to replace half the squad always sets you back immensely. This smells like year -1 instead of year 0.

Besides that our squad management is a huge mess.

Are we sending Walker back to ManC?
Is Bennancer / Adli coming back?
What happens to Morata?

These are the type of questions we need to answer first to know how many roles we have to fill.

Last day as 🔴⚫️ for Reijnders: in the next few hours medical visits and signature ✍🏻 on the contract that will tie him to Manchester City until 2030 (7 million per season). Milan will collect 55 million immediately and will be entitled to 15 million in bonuses. Painful transfer

Longo

Very painful 😓

For those of us here trying to deal with this transfer by calling Tijiani the Dutch Nocerino etc, just watch a mid player like Mbuemo who is not as good as him quality wise (though different positions) go for a higher transfer fee. His small EPL team is asking for over 80 million euros minimum even after being offered 60 million euros.

This is after another small EPL team made Man U pay 75 million euros for Cunha.

Some of our fans here are acting like we pulled of an insane heist by selling our most dependable player over the last 2 years with near 100% availability for 55 million euros. And we are supposed to be a giant in this game.

Tijiani wasn’t Gullit nor was he Seedorf but he definitely was a very dependable quality player for us and losing him for the amount we are doing is really tragic. It’s not like they offered us 110 to 125 million like EPL teams did for other midfielders like Enzo Fernandez, Caicedo or Rice. And none of these players are Gullit or Seedorf either
