Allegri thinking of only Roma
By Football Italia staff

Massimiliano Allegri insists that his Milan players cannot afford to be anything other than 100 per cent focused on Roma this weekend.

The Rossoneri face Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals in midweek, but the Coach has made it clear that only Luis Enrique’s Giallorossi should be in their minds.

“Roma? I hope we win tomorrow,” he admitted on Milan Channel on Friday.

“It will not be an easy match - the Giallorossi have changed their way of playing, they’ve defended much better in the last two games too, where they won 1-0 without conceding a goal.

“They hold possession very well and when not in possession they are improving. They are always dangerous going forward and tomorrow [Francesco] Totti should return.

“We’ll have to play a very good game, both from a technical point of view and in terms of tension and pace.”

Milan’s midweek opponents Barcelona are the side that Roma have attempted to mimic in playing style this season.

“The gaming systems of Roma and Barcelona are more or less the same, it is the Barca players that make the difference, but Roma have Totti and [Daniele] De Rossi, two champions, and they have young players of great value.

“I’m not thinking about Barcelona, tomorrow is a League game, it is the most important right now. Once we’ve played that game then we’ve faced the current top six in the League.

“We must be careful because with Roma, if you are not right on the pitch or take risks, they have quality, speed and good ball possession, and absolutely we must not think about Barcelona.”

Allegri also commented on current injury situation at the club. Alexandre Pato has flown to America for advice on his ongoing injury struggles and Filippo Inzaghi has been ruled out of action for three weeks. Meanwhile President Silvio Berlusconi, who spoke to Allegri last weekend, has reportedly criticised the number of injuries, with scrutiny falling on the team’s training methods.

“He never comments on training methods,” the Coach defended.

“At Parma on Saturday he asked about those who were injured and if the players were tired.

“He tends to protect the players, wants them to rest. However, there are fewer muscular injuries now than it may seem.”

Probable line-up vs. Roma (4-3-1-2): Abbiati; Bonera-Mexes-Silva-Zambrotta; Nocerino-Ambrosini-Muntari; Emanuelson; Ibra-El Shaarawy.

Where is MVB ? :( Also our fullbacks today are interesting :)

Boateng back for Milan-Roma

Milan have Kevin-Prince Boateng, Alessandro Nesta and Mark Van Bommel back in the squad to face Roma on Saturday.

Boateng has barely played in 2012 due to a series of back and muscular injuries, but makes his return to the Rossoneri side.

Nesta and Van Bommel also end their spells on the treatment table, although the injury crisis does still drag on.

Maxi Lopez, Alexandre Pato, Pippo Inzaghi, Rodney Strasser, Ignazio Abate, Antonio Cassano and Mathieu Flamini are all unavailable.

Left-back Luca Antonini is suspended for tomorrow’s Serie A clash.

This means that Stephan El Shaarawy and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are the only available strikers.

Milan squad: Abbiati, Amelia, Bonera, Mesbah, Mexes, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Zambrotta, Yepes, Ambrosini, Aquilani, Boateng, Carmona, Emanuelson, Gattuso, Muntari, Nocerino, Seedorf, Van Bommel, El Shaarawy, Ibrahimovi

What the fuck is wrong with you. Makes me ashamed to be a yank.

If that did happen we dont deserve the scudetto.

Or are you just fuckin with us, couldnt be 3-0, 0-3 maybe.

Lmao i meant it was a good thing "for Roma" if they leave the San Siro just 3-0 down.

Do not worry, child.

Milan have not lost once in the last 30 league matches in which Ibra has scored, since losing 1-2 vs. Juventus in November 2010.

Say after me: IbraSupremacy

Say it again. And again.

Cafu considers Milan-Roma
By Football Italia staff

Former Roma and Milan star Marcos Cafu reads today’s big clash and insists Luis Enrique’s vision “just needs some time.”

The two teams go head to head at San Siro with a 17.00 UK time kick-off and the Brazilian was asked to give his view.

“I am following Roma and Luis Enrique’s ideas ought to be respected,” Cafu told Rete Sport.

“The fans and media should not be so quick to judge, as results are not the only things that count. He just needs some time and patience.”

Cafu turns 42 in June and spent most of his career in Serie A, at Roma from 1997 to 2003, then for five seasons at Milan until his retirement in 2008. He won the Scudetto at both clubs.

“Winning a title is wonderful anywhere, but at Roma we won it for the first time in 18 years, whereas at Milan it was more to be expected.

“My children are still big Roma fans. Despite the distance that separates them from Rome now, they never stopped loving those team colours.”
