He also intercepted a few balls from England in Italy's half, think Andy Carroll was hating him. He's a utility player, I actually think that the Italian team has too many creative players, a work horse like Noceirno would give defenses an external threat that isn't an attacker to fear inside of their own box. It might not seem important but in a game like Football where you can win 1-0, that one run in goal from him can be very important, as was for Milan this year.

He's a wildcard, and a damned good one.

Nocerino has the correct and fearless mentality... you gotta respect him for that... he is not a blessing to the world... but a player that is persistent is someone I always respect and especially when he is also brave... Nocerino tries, and carries responsibilities... he deserves to start for Milan, he shows that he wants to improve and for me that is one of the best players.

To me he's such a limited player (for CMF) and that makes me root for him whenever he gets things right, usually in the final third.

In build-up however, he's frustrating for me to watch because he's not comfortable on the ball at all. When he came on for DDR I thought that might turn the game in England's favor due to the significant drop in technique but fortunately Italy is not Milan, they have Pirlo, Monty, and Marchisio to more than make up for his deficiencies. Whenever he got the ball he just gave it back to them to do something with it. Even when given time and and space to turn and pick a teammate out for a forward pass, he'll just pass it back to the defenders.

I hate watching players like that who are too timid in possession but he does do some things well so it will always be a love/hate with him.

As for starting over Marchisio, I guess that could work as he provides something a bit different from all the other mids.

Nocerino did make good use of his short time with Pippo. Wished Binho and Pato did the same but then Noce is just too smart.

The way he prepared for that penalty, you would rather have a raging bull running at you.
