Wayne Rooney believes AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf poses the biggest threat to Manchester United's Champions League ambitions, and admitted he is looking forward to facing England team-mate David Beckham in the last-16 tie.

Rooney highlighted Seedorf's performance in Milan's victories over United in both the 2004-05 and 2006-07, as the Rossoneri eliminated Sir Alex Ferguson's side on both occasions.

"Seedorf (is the Milan player I fear most). He's probably the best player I've ever played against," Rooney told Tuesday's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Rarely have I seen a player do what he does on the field. You can't leave him out."

Midfield maestro believes Milan’s future is in their own hands…

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has claimed the Rossoneri have their destiny in their own hands, insisting he is not concerned with what happens across the city at Inter.

"It is all in our own hands,” Seedorf is quoted as saying by milannews.it. "I am not worried about the future. We have to look at the present."

The Dutchman went on to admit that though the loss to Inter in the derby was a blow for the Rossoneri, it was only one match.

"The derby has been big, but it is still only three points. We must still believe, do our best and not look at Inter."

Finally, the 33-year-old confirmed he was not intimidated by the spending power of Inter, citing one of his former clubs as an example of how money doesn’t guarantee success.
