Speaking of Neymar, Roman Abramovich has made him priority for the summer. Big money move coming up, do you guys think Santos will sell by end of August?

when santos try to hold this guys.. happens what happens with robinho and now with ganso..
is up to the players.. santos dont wanna sell.

@ Sven and Australiano1980,

How is this Casemiro, i keep reading everyday that Leo and Inter wants him and now Di Marzio says that the deal can be done.

What kind of player is he?

He is a CM, not a box-to-box kind of player, but more of a destroyer, yet not with the positional sense of a DM. He got some good quality on the ball too, overall a great talent but he is very, very raw.

He lost his starting spot in São Paulo lately. Maybe he is inconsistent (wich is normal for his age), and I also read somewhere he had trouble on trying to renew his contract with São Paulo.

Whats the deal with Leandro from Grêmio ? Any truth to the hype ...new Dinho etc etc

Dinho??

I thought hes a forward with good dribbling.

Sven/Australiano will know...

Yeah, he is a forward and he is pretty good. But nowhere close to Dinho (except coming from the same club). He is a typical forward as acmilan4ever wrote, got very good skills, deadly shoot, dribbling, speed... Also a good work rate and personality, it's not easy to be called to the first team to play a Libertadores with 17 years, but the guy is handling very well and becoming a key player for the team.

I did some YT scouting  and i realized that he plays a bit like Jucilei. Correct me if im wrong, i saw some Sao Paulo first team and junior team videos and he has a lethal shot and good heading abilities and as you mentioned good quality on the ball. Could he go on to become a box-to-box like Guarin/Vidal?

Speaking of Damiao...

A moment of magic however from Leandro Damiao finally gave the Inter support something to cheer. The young striker opened up on the edge of the box with 65 minutes on the clock and, with the help of a slight deflection, curled the ball past a motionless Sosa to level proceedings- and in the context of the tie leave Inter firmly in the driving seat.

He made that assist last weekend, this dribble is called "lambreta":
Wasn't that the move which got us Umit Davala?

(I know it was actually Terim's singing, but I was trying to smartly ask + insinuate that Davala made a similar move in Korea/Japan WC ... or did he?)

-e- FAIL. It was Mansiz who skinned Roberto Carlos like that.

Had to see this again, completely forgot about that. :star:

Ümit Davala was one of my favourite Milan flops. Just checked he was exchanged for Simic with Inter in 2002, couldn't remember that.

No Lucas though :(

Sao Paulo's hopes of winning the Paulista state championship have taken a big blow, with the news that starlet Lucas will miss the club's semi-final clash with Santos.

Globoesporte reports that Lucas pulled his right abductor muscle just before the quarter-final encounter with Portuguesa that the Tricolor won 2-0. The injury was later confirmed on the club's official website by doctor Jose Sanchez, who also stated Rodrigo Souto would face a spell in the treatment room.

As a result, he will be on the sidelines for two weeks to recover, which rules him out of Wednesday's Copa do Brasil meeting with Goias and also the Santos clash next weekend. Sao Paulo have not won the competition since 2005, and will hope to go one step further than the last four stage which has proved their downfall in the last four editions of the Paulistao.

Brazilian Club Football Culture: A Look Into Fierce Rivalries
by Vikram Krishnaveti - Sunday, May 8th, 2011

For decades that have flown by, Brazilian Football has been symbolised as one of the most spectacular brands on show in the modern world, captivating the hearts and souls of billions with their samba style, free flowing attacking football and being a strong cohesive unit in all the three departments of the game. Apart from the new-age Tiki Taka possession football of Barcelona, 21st century football has not seen much of the yesteryear tactics, Catenaccio and Total Football. The country which always played it the right way has always been Brazil, despite neighbours Uruguay being the ones to stamp the South American Football on the world during the early 1920s to 1940s.

Brazilian club football is largely known for the historic club rivalries which date far and deep into history, but have been overshadowed by the achievements of the neighbouring Argentineans – Boca Juniors, Independiente, Estudiantes and River Plate, who have won the Libertadores innumerable times. The rivalry between these clubs is more than a football game; even war would seem to be an understatement to the fans that set their heart and soul on the line, cheering and spurning on the team. The most notable rivalries from South America are the Boca – River Plate Superclassico, Sao Paulo – Corinthians, Palmeiras – Sao Paulo and Corinthians – Palmeiras. But one of the deepest rooted in tradition and pride among these Brazilian wars is Flamengo – Vasco da Gama, Classico Dos Milhoes or the Derby of the Millions.
