A special group

Clarence Seedorf talks about the Rossoneri’s winning combination and how far it has taken them this season.

4444_news.jpg

Milan’s Dutch star spoke to Milan Channel about some of the Rossoneri’s strong points in what has been an unusual season:

His relationship with Carlo Ancelotti: ‘Carlo Ancelotti and I understand each other very well. We have a very honest, natural and loyal relationship. Despite those things that seemed a bit distorted, we have had a great relationship even in the darkest moments. After everything else football is built out of passion and each one of us expresses these sentiments in their own way. For the good of the profession and the jersey that you wear, you must always be careful of the negative way in which these spontaneous events can be interpreted.’

A special group: ‘Milan have a great group. I would even go so far as to say special. You just have to look at where we are. In the league we are fighting for a place next year in Europe. In the Champions League, we only have three teams remaining until that splendid place that we all know so well. We are where we are, despite everything. It’s incredible because we are being hit again by the same thing that happened at the start of the season and it’s not over yet. There’s always something when we are doing well like, for example, when four of our players got the flu and we went to Palermo with only three defenders. And even with all of this, we have the power to fight and overcome any situation. The strength of this side is the group and our desire to fight.’

Chievo and Celtic: ‘I don’t want to think about the clash with Celtic right now. We only have to think about one game at a time without making any kind of calculations. I am certain that Chievo represent a difficult obstacle to overcome. As regards to Celtic, it will certainly be a special game. As I’ve said before, there are only three teams between us and our objective!’

Seedorf is going to have a kid (well it says he dedicates his goal to his wife who is going to have a baby, I think its safe to think it's his :D).
In any case, it's this the first Seedorf kid?
Anyway, congratz to Clarence (on both the goal and the kid).

Seedorf denies Ancelotti rift
17.3 || webmaster

Football Italia

Clarence Seedorf denies he is at loggerheads with Carlo Ancelotti and gave a mixed reception to the potential arrival of Ronaldinho.

“I always respect Ancelotti’s decisions,” insisted the Milan midfielder. “I may not always agree with him, but I do give him my support. The players must do their best to give the Coach what he asks for.”

The former Inter and Ajax man has repeatedly been caught having a touchline argument with his tactician, but assures there is nothing rebellious about it.

“I always put the team first. I play with a clear conscience, thinking what is best for the squad. I can make mistakes, when I hear people say I am a ‘slow midfielder’ I tell them to ask my opponents what they think about my pace. I take praise and criticism equally, as I know I act in service of Milan.”

Nonetheless, there is still some tension between the two men in terms of tactics, above all the recent switch back to a Christmas Tree formation with Kaka as support striker.

“This side has always shown great character. I come from the Dutch school of attacking football, but with a combination of attack and defence Milan have done extremely well in recent years. When it is necessary, we must all adapt. I would like to play behind the strikers with Kaka in front, but Ancelotti always explains his decisions.”

The Rossoneri had their 15-match Serie A unbeaten run ended by rivals Inter in the 2-1 derby defeat last week, but ex-Real Madrid man Seedorf is confident they can get right back on track.

“There is a reason why Milan have been the most competitive club in Europe over the last five years. It’s that we all put the team as our priority – the complete opposite of what happened at Real Madrid.”

After Ronaldo’s arrival, the San Siro giants have made it clear their next La Liga target is Barcelona’s Ronaldinho.

“He is a friend of mine and I am his fan, so it would be wonderful to have him at Milan. The real question here is – do we need him or not? The choice is not up to me.”

Seedorf showed admirable fair play when asked to look back on their ‘failures’ this term, including losing both derbies for the first time since 1981-82.

“We went out of the Coppa Italia and lost against Inter, but these are acceptable defeats. You have to hold up your hands and admit when your opponent plays better. Our objectives remain the same, though – third place in Serie A and the Champions League Final.”

Acceptable defeats my ass, inter would always be the second team of Milano so thats not acceptable at all,if u can`t do the your job at Milan, get out and let others play, wee have one young good player on the bench who sits there because of this clown.

For some reason, he is the unofficial mouthpiece of the team this season, saying the right things. Acceptable defeats? That's absolutely nuts. Isn't this the second time in about a year he's (supposedly) butting heads with Carletto?

As for the Ronaldinho comment, I must say it was nice to have him voice his honest opinion in lieu of the usual gushing over his impending arrival.

We don't need Ronaldinho here, I also think he wouldn't fit in this competition or team. And we already have Kaka.

And acceptable defeats, off course not. Understandable yes, if you see who Inter bought, and who we bought. And who we let go and didn't replace. For one time it was understandable to lose those 2 games.

well... didn't i mention somethin' about a "premeditated mindset of surrender" somewhere? this comment about "acceptable defeats" pretty much validates my assumption... doesn't it?

You dont know how lucky you are he plays for us!
Seedorf should also remain after he retires and become Milan ambassador in the world like Leonardo and be a dutch scout.

I admire your enthusiasm man but you must admit as a Seedorf fan that he really is having a bad season:)
When we traded Seedorf for Coco I think we made a mistake cos' at that time Seedorf was a benchwarmer at Inter while Coco was playing for the Azzuri. But we all saw where Coco ended up...
His first two seasons in Milan were good. When we won the CL he played a great campaign. He had a lot of assists by his name, nice plays, goals, passes etc.He played a great season when we won the Scudeto and after that he vanished...
Hehe kinda makes me think he started playing really bad when he changed his hair style
