closet jubentino .. atleast he is happy
How would you feel if the company you worked for, tirelessly, for 10 years, decides that you are surplus to requirements and instead chose a thug of a developer with less than half your portfolio? Say you are a Java EJB developer, and they release you from your contract for someone solid in PHP?
Meanwhile, there's another company willing to meet your wage demands and focus on your EJB strengths ... build an environment where you will excel in your speciality more than you have in the latter periods of your contract at your current company.
Furthermore, your current company doesn't see the combination of you and your prospective company as a real threat to their current status as market leaders.
Its a pretty straight forward situation ... one where there is no deceit and/or betrayal. No false promises or excuses were made. This was completely straightforward and honest from all parties involved.
Of course Juve had crucial decisions go their way, and I agree that things would have been different had these decisions been handled differently. But Juve were our title rivals on merit ... and while they probably wouldn't win without cheating, my point is that Pirlo has been fundamental to their challenge. Without him, they wouldn't be where they are.
Milan made an error in letting him go. I think that is a fair conclusion from a neutral point of view. Pirlo out, Van Boss in, was a mistake. Face it.
Nothing we can do about it though, and anyway ... we needed to look forward a while back. I was all for letting Pirlo go, but not with Van Boss as his replacement.
Now Milan should look to strengthen the anchor role with real quality. We can keep Van Boss for depth in Serie A, but like I said last summer, I'd rather have Ambro in that role cause he really isn't that much worse than Van Boss + you know he has Milan in his heart.
Anyway, that is all subjective ... but one thing is certain. Milan need a new quality anchor.
